[identity profile] dublinscot.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] vigorli
I have a question regarding the posting of stories. Last July I participated in a LJ 'contest', where you write a story based on someone else's request, but your name is not revealed until all the stories are posted and read. Anyway, the story was /is posted at the site of that contest. Am I allowed to post it elsewhere, ie. on my LJ or on Mirrormere, etc? I'm not sure how that works. Thanks.

I didn't participate in whatever contest you did but if I had to guess, you're the author and have the right to post your story wherever you'd like (as long as you post it at an appropriate place) :P

By the sounds of it, you participated in one of those fic exchanges like they do around Christmas time. Once all of the authors' names are revealed, I'm sure you can cross-post to wherever you'd like. Just don't do that beforehand because then it's just obvious who wrote the story and takes the fun out of the contest *wink*

Pfff no worries at all. I'm new to all this too. Just got my LJ up and running about a month or two ago after much procrastination haha I've just done some extreme lurking in my past so I have some knowledge regarding certain things like this :P *squishes*

The story is yours now, so you can post it where you like. It would be courtesy to say in your header which fic exchange you wrote it for, who requested it etc, though. :D
