Question re: Posting

vigorliI have a question regarding the posting of stories. Last July I participated in a LJ 'contest', where you write a story based on someone else's request, but your name is not revealed until all the stories are posted and read. Anyway, the story was /is posted at the site of that contest. Am I allowed to post it elsewhere, ie. on my LJ or on Mirrormere, etc? I'm not sure how that works. Thanks.
