PROLOGUE
“A letter to my angel
It’s been exactly a year today that you got wings on your back. They are beautiful, you know, pure white and shiny, like the swan we saw at the lake. How are you doing up there? Have they treated you well, like you deserve? It’s wrong what they did to you. And to me, too. A father isn’t supposed to ever bury his own child, to grieve a young life lost. Are you in a good place? Do you feel okay? Just give me a sign, angel. Anything at all...”
He broke down as bright sunshine hit his face between the broken mass of clouds. His logic of course told him it was nature working in its circle but his heart wanted to believe it really was his angel letting him know she wasn’t in pain, that wherever she was, she felt fine.
“That’s brilliant, honey. Thank you. Now I can keep on going and let you go. Just remember, daddy will always love you. Always. No matter what.”
