Orlando had come to LA to talk about a possible new role with producers. He was staying at the Four Seasons for two weeks. He had promised Elijah and Dominic to meet with them as well. Today he had a scheduled meeting with a friend of his, a producer, in Malibu. Orlando hadn’t eaten much at all in the morning knowing they’d end up going to a restaurant anyway. He stepped into his silver hybrid Audi and started his journey.
He had plenty of time left so he thought he’d take the “scenic” mountainous route. Exiting a highway he turned the hood of his car towards the ocean and began to navigate the curly road.
The Audi shone in the sunlight and looked like it was taken out of the Geneva Car Show. Another car, a black BMW X5, was returning back to one of the suburbs of LA when the driver lost the steering. First the black SUV hit the barrier, sparkles flew to the air. Then the car changed lanes abruptly, probably due to the impact with the railing. Orlando could do nothing at that point and the cars crashed, the SUV hitting the driver’s side corner of the Audi making it spin in the air and hit the tunnel wall at the opening.
Orlando was conscious when everything came to a halt. Realizing what had happened he dug for his phone on the floor. Calling 911 he waited for the help he and the driver in the SUV needed. His stomach hurt badly and the pain inside seemed to intensify with every passing second. The SUV driver was not moving. His seemingly lifeless body was slumped on top of the steering wheel.
The pain in his stomach was becoming unbearable, so was the headache and Orlando heard the sirens of the ambulances, fire trucks and the police coming towards them fast before he lost consciousness.

Orlando had to be cut out of his Audi. At the same time, when the firemen and paramedics were securing his spine and lifting him out to the stretchers, other paramedics pronounced the SUV driver dead. Orlando had a gash on his head and the paramedics examined his him. A CT scan would be needed immediately after his arrival to Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

There seemed to be something wrong with the CT scans, something the doctors weren’t sure of, not even the neurologists. They figured it was for the best to put Orlando into a drug induced coma. They also found Orlando was bleeding into his abdominal cavity and now emergency surgery was needed to find the bleeding organ and repair the damage before it was too late.
After hours in the operating room, the surgeons walked out of the theater pleased with the outcome. They had found the bleeding organ, repaired the damage and saved Orlando’s life. Orlando’s spleen had been ruptured in the accident. That caused the increasing stomach ache and the blood loss caused the unconsciousness. The paramedics had reached Orlando inside the Golden Hour, a time span that is always crucial for the injured. His probable head injury would be treated but not just yet.
After the operation Orlando was wheeled to the ICU, to the place where Viggo met him two weeks later.
