What Say You? A ViggOrli triple drabble.
Feb. 21st, 2005 03:03 pmThis triple drabble is inspired by the Stereophonics song "Dakota".
This story does not necessarily reflect the idea I have of the relationship between V and O. It does not necessarily reflect my V/O theory. But deeply touched by this song, and as a writer- putting images and "new worlds" into words- I felt the urge to write this.
Tripple Drabble
Title: What Say You?
Author: Ana Gonzalez
Pairing: Viggo/Orlando
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: I do not know these men personally, so I am not making any claims on their sexuality. This is fiction.
Warning: This drabble is angsty.
Note: Viggo`s POV.
300 Words
What say you when you stare at the stars, and confess your deepest secrets to the celestial mass that shines upon you?
Do you tell them about me, about the old us?
Do you think they know my name?
Viggo- somehow I always thought my name fit perfectly with yours- Orlando.
Both names invoke bravery and boldness.
As my moon fit heavenly with your sun.
We had each other carved deep in the skin, even before we actually met.
Nothing could wrong.
We never should have gone astray…
What say you about the naked trees that lose their leaves in late spring?
About the newborn deer that are run over by trucks before they open their eyes?
About the cold sunflower, about the humming birds that only taste pain?
Does it hurt you to know the world is spinning in the wrong direction, and sometimes there is no turning back?
Does it hurt you to realise you have left for so little, when maybe, just maybe we had so much?
And this, and that, and me, and the others…
What say you, last prince of a doomed realm in which I roam, about the lights that have gone out not because of the violent winds, but because of the solitude your departure brought to last?
Do you dare to speak my name in the shade of your lonely suite, in the dungeon of your soul?
What say you to the heart that still aches for you?
I shouldn’t been here by now; I should be kissing and making love in another bed, without any regret. I should accept that you are neither a boy nor a man, but a star.
I am probably the King of fools!
I can accept my madness; that is why I still wait for you…
