I wrote a ViggOrli ficlet for Vola Slash`s (Yahoo Group) Valentine Challenge.
These are the terms of the challenge:
"The chosen theme is “Whole-Hearted” to go along with the groovy new “Wholeness” layout. Your challenge is to write a POV from the viewpoint of any LotR cast member/character reflecting on the *you complete me* love shared by Viggo/Orlando or Aragorn/Legolas. You may choose one of the members of the two pairings, or anyone else from the primary cast. Your main character may be musing while he/she watches the happy couple, or remembers a particular moment on set, or is perhaps speaking to another character about the relationship. These are only suggestions, not rules.
These are the rules and they are few:
* Your entry must be limited to 500 words or less.
* Any rating is fine from a fluffy G to a smokin’ NC17."
Okay, so I wrote a ficlet from Liv Tyler`s POV.
I loved to do it from her POV, it was great to find her voice.
So here it is...
Ficlet
Title: Complete Love
Category: RPS
Author: Ana Gonzalez
Pairing: Viggo/Orlando
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: I do not know these two men personally, and I do not own them- they belong to themselves. This is only a product of my imagination.
Note: Liv Tyler’s POV.
Feedback: Yes, please!
Do they really think we don’t know?
I am head over heels, deeply in love and committed to my long time boyfriend; I have experienced the magic of falling in love, and I experience the incredible blessing of being loved in return.
I am a happy woman.
I make plans for the future, and see myself married and happier than ever.
But the image I see before my eyes, surpasses any idea of utter love and bliss.
There they are, my beloved King and my dear Elf, exchanging looks that carry beams of sunlight and particles of a newborn star.
They gaze at each other with fire in their eyes; a refrained fire for they try to make it look like an “ordinary” male fellowship, but the flames consume them.
Viggo says: “I…”, and the wishful Orlando says: “…do”
They do tend to read each other’s minds too often, and swallow every single word that flows from each other’s mouths as if their health, their survival depended on it.
I see them ignoring the air everyone breathes, the pages of the script everyone reads, while they are lost in the murmurs and ciphers only the two of them can understand. Lost in their hideaway.
Their secret is our undeniable truth, but they don’t even realise they are being watched, for they only have eyes for each other.
I keep telling Peter that if Mr Tolkien had actually met Viggo and Orlando, he would have written a different story with a different romantic pairing…
When the cameras start rolling, and Viggo pulls me unto him to whisper in my ear passionate elvish words of longing, it is Orlando he thinks of.
Still, Orlando stands impatient in a corner of the set, in the shade, biting his nails and sighing deeply.
They made a sacred promise to each other, they promised to be faithful even in their sleep.
No words were spoken; I know for I was there, taking a peak at the dressing room that was supposed to be mine- they knelt on the floor and Viggo sung a love song first in Danish, then in Spanish, and finally in English…
Don’t go my love for I will fall to pieces
We are one, and two cannot be complete
Lend me your hand in this journey by the river
Say you will be mine from dawn to eternity…
Orlando had his eyes filled with water, and he was speechless.
But he didn’t need to say anything. He knew he was the happiest man that ever lived, and Viggo knew he had made Orlando touch the stars.
I did not interrupt them. How could I?
This is love in its purest essence. This is music, their love is a symphony.
I knew what was like to love and be loved, deeply, but now I realise I had no idea of what is like to see one’s features in another person’s face, one’s heart inside another person’s heart.
This is love.
Complete love.
