Disclaimer: Don't know, don't own, just playing.
It was nearly dawn by the time
That had been a good day, he remembered. There had been such a warmth to it that had seemed a bit out of place in a tiny, impersonal tattoo shop with the color photos of the artist’s work proudly displayed and covering most of one wall. He remembered Sir Ian looking closely at one particular snapshot only to discover it was of a man’s penis tattooed with red stripes, like a candy cane.
“Happy Christmas,” the older man had murmured and nudged
At the time, Orli had turned bright red and stammered something unintelligible but now he just felt melancholy. He missed his friends. Not just The Fellowship but everyone. Peter and Fran, Phillipa, Salah, Rich… The cast and crew of
He stretched his arms over his head, legs straight and toes pointed then went limp. He wanted to sleep but his mind was whirling. He’d seen a picture of Elijah on the cover of a magazine when he’d been sitting in the make-up chair and it had started an avalanche of memories crashing down on him.
Orli sat up and scrubbed his hands over his face. He should call Kate. He should call home. He picked up his cell phone from the table beside the bed and stared at it. Slowly, he flipped it open. The background picture was of the Rivendell set. He sometimes wondered why he’d never changed it. Maybe used a picture of Kate instead. She’d like that.
He clicked for his contacts list and scrolled until he stopped on the name that he was trying not to think of. He was the last person

Viggo was just walking in the door when the phone rang. He scowled and considered ignoring it but parental warning bells had a tendency to ring louder than the phone. He plucked his cell from his shirt pocket as he walked into the kitchen with the intention of having a glass of water. He’d been out riding in an attempt to quiet the voices in his head. And heart.
“Yeah?” Viggo opened the refrigerator door and pulled out the jug of spring water he’d filled just the other day. From the looks of it, he’d need to take another trip to the spring.
“Filthy human.”
Viggo stilled. He carefully closed the refrigerator door. “Hey, prissy elf,” he whispered. He felt light-headed and he leaned his elbows on the counter, the phone pressed tightly against his ear.
“You busy?”
“No. Where are you?”
“
Viggo closed his eyes and rubbed them with his thumb and forefinger. He was on a break and due back to the set himself in four days. He’d spent the last few months throwing himself into Life After Orlando, telling himself that their decision had been the right one, that they’d been mature and smart and he’d lived without the damned kid before but… “How’s Kate?”
“Yeah.” The Dane straightened and left the water jug unopened on the counter as he walked to the livingroom. He shoved aside a stack of magazines to make a space for himself on the couch.
“Perils of two actors dating, right?”
Viggo sighed and let his head fall back. “Orli…”
“I just wanted to… I think I love her.”
Viggo swallowed, the clicking in his throat the sound of his heart breaking. “That’s…” his voice was a hoarse croak and he cleared his throat to try again but stopped himself. No point in lying by saying That’s nice. That’s good.
“Vig? Is it okay? I still… I always will, you know that. You said it too.”
“I’m…” Viggo threw an arm over his eyes. “I’m happy…for you. But I can’t be happy about that. You can’t ask me to be.” Christ, what had he done? What had they both done to each other? How the hell was he going to get through this?
“Are you…seeing anyone?”
“No.” Viggo didn’t want to admit to the handful of one-night stands he’d had just after they’d broken up. He wanted to forget them and there was no need for
“Shit.”
Viggo let his arm drop and sat up. He could hear Orli breathing hard, the wet kind of breathing that haunted him. The younger man had sounded the same way that last night.
“I’m glad.” Orli gave a bitter bark of laughter. “I’m fucking glad. What kind of selfish prick does that make me?”
“You’re no more selfish than I am,” Viggo told him softly. “You should go.”
“Viggo-“
“Listen to me elf. Hang up and go wash your face. Then call your girlfriend.”
“I want-“
Viggo clenched his teeth. “Goodbye.”
“Vig-“
Viggo viciously pressed the button to disconnect the phone and threw the cell across the room. It bounced off the wall with a crunch and clattered to the floor. He slid down to the floor and stared up at the ceiling wondering when he’d stop hating a pretty young girl he’d never met.

He pounded the mattress with his fists and pushed himself to his feet. “Go wash your face and call Kate,” he mumbled, moving towards the bathroom. He should have done that in the first place. As he ran the water, he told himself that tomorrow he’d change the picture on his cellphone.
