[identity profile] lotr-gal709.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] vigorli
Hi I just wanted to let you know that after I posted mums sketch and read all your wonderful comments I showed mum what I'd done!!!
She was thrilled that I could post her artwork but also a little scared because she doesn't think that she is up to professional standards. But once she read you comments, well let me just say she had a hard time walking through a door!!!
She also said for me to say a very big thank you to all who commented and that through you comments about continuing to sketch she decided to give another a go!!
This is what she did...

Viggo

Now mum knows this time that I am posting this sketch and she has asked me to ask you what you think she could do to improve her sketches (please remember that she is self taught and has no professional experience at sketching so you comments in this area mean a lot to her especially from any one who is a professional)

Love 'n' Hugs to all!!!

I'm so glad to hear that you mum was thrilled. I think she is brilliant, especially for one who is self taught. I unfortunately have no skill, and I am not a professional. My only advice would be to practice :)

that's very good.
he's deceptive, because although he's got a long head, and sometimes his face is very narrow, sometimes it's quite wide. she's caught a particular look dead to rights.

the chin may be a bit too much to the left of frame (viggo's right) but if in the reference pic he's holding it that way (and i've seen him do that) then.. what can you do? there it is. there HE is. wonderful.

If I were an artist, I could probably advise, but I'm not. I'm just a drooling, desperate lurker of pretty Viggo pictures so no complaints from my side of the fence!

Well done, your Mum . . . it's beautiful (again!!!)

My only comment is - as you have requested constructive criticism - is that the face is just a little too wide. Viggo's face is a very 'thin' one, but she has captured the surprised-at-life expression very well.

Can we request commissions? Like maybe, Sean . . . *grins*

No seriously, she has a wonderful talent and I thank you very much for sharing these with us.

*hugs*
