Chapter 2
Orlando watched as the last patrons finally left the tableand breathed a huge sigh of relief. It had been an extremely busy night filled with demanding and ever so slightly, inebriated customers.
It was now going on one o’clock in the morning and he was dead on his feet. The restaurant had officially been closed at ten. He ran his hands through his tangle of brown thick curls and giving a tired sigh, he made his way to the front of the restaurant ready to go home.
“Orlando!” called out another waiter. “You just getting off too?” asked Billy.
“Yeah,” Orlando gave him a half smile. “Damn customers, couldn’t get rid of them! I thought they were going to spend the damn night here!”
Billy laughed heartily. “I know what you mean mate,” he laughed and patted him on the shoulder. “Fancy a smoke before ya go?”
“Sure. Sounds great. I sure could use one about now, of course three hours ago would have been even better,” he replied as he opened the doors and stepped out into the cool night air.
He sat down on one of the concrete edges that lined the restaurant and removed a pack of Marlboro Lights out of his pocket and slid one out. He offered the pack to Billy who declined and told him they were too mild for him. Orlando shook his head and placed the cigarette in between his lips and grabbed his lighter. He lit the end till it glowed bright in the night, and took a long drag off the cigarette; he leaned his head back and blew the smoke up into the night air whilst he brought one leg up and hugged it closely to his body, and left the other to dangle over the edge.
“God, that’s good,” he groaned as he pulled another long drag, blowing the smoke out in an equally long stream.
Billy laughed and lit his own and puffed quietly beside him.
“Did you get some good tips tonight?” he finally asked.
Orlando shrugged, “The usual,” he sighed. “Its good money I mean, but so much bloody ass kissing to get it ya know.”
“Yeah, I know,” his friend answered with a laugh.
“There was one thing though that happened tonight,” he paused as he took another long drag and thought about how he was going to mention this to his friend.
Billy eyed him carefully. He knew something was up.
“There was this couple, they weren’t in my section, but I had to take them their food while Steph was on her break,” he paused again and his brows furrowed. “The bloke, he was good looking for sure, ya know.”
“But he was with a woman?” Billy interrupted.
“Yes. But that’s not the point.”
“What is the point then?”
“I was like, really attracted to him for some reason. I mean it’s been a while since I’ve even looked at another guy that way.”
“Did he seem interested?” Billy asked.
“I’m not sure; I thought I saw him watching me several times. I’m sure it’s nothing, really,” he said as he ground the rest of his cigarette out.
“How long has it been since you broke up with Miranda?”
“’Bout a month I guess, why?”
“Well maybe you’re just horny is all,” he suggested.
Orlando snorted at that. “Yeah, maybe I am, reading too much into things too.”
“I’m sure you won’t see him again, so I wouldn’t worry about it,” Billy suggested.
“Yeah, you’re probably right I need to get laid or something,” he groaned as he rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands tiredly.
“I could set you up with my room-mates friend,” Billy offered after a moments thought.
Orlando shot him a dirty look. “That guy! No way on this green Earth am I going to have anything to do with that pervert!”
Billy laughed at Orlando’s disgust. “Just thought I’d ask, I mean, if you know, get desperate.”
“I’d rather do it myself Bill’s,” he spat as he stood up to go.
“Okay Lando, don’t get your shorts all in a knot,” he grinned. “Well, I’d better get home to my man; he gets rather testy when I’m late. For some reason he doesn’t trust me.”
“Dom’s an idiot Billy, he doesn’t deserve you,” Orlando said as he pulled out another cigarette and lit it up.
“I know, but I love him anyway. I’ll see ya tomorrow yeah?”
“Yeah, another night of the symphony. Can’t wait till the whole fucking season is over.”
“Later mate,” Billy smiled and waved as he headed to his car.
Orlando nodded his head in reply and walked down the street in the opposite direction to his own car. He knew he would sleep well tonight. Well, that was after he got the image of Dr. Mortensen out of his mind and got himself off to images of the man. “Damn, that man was hot,” he groaned as he got into his car and started the engine and shifting it into gear.
~
Viggo sat back in the chair his mind drifting back to the night before. His eyes closed as he pictured Orlando as he leaned over the table serving the other customers. He imagined himself leaning over the youths back and wrapping his arms around the slender frame. His hands caressing his sides and slowly undoing his trousers, his body pushing forward, rubbing up against the tight ass, his cock…
“Viggo!”
Viggo jumped with a start. “Shit Sean, don’t scare me like that!” he hissed, as he sat back in the chair.
“Well I have been trying to get your attention but apparently your mind is somewhere else!” he laughed. “You and Chloe have a nice Valentines Day?”
“Oh yeah, the usual,” he replied as he stared down at the chart in front of him.
“Where did you take her?” he asked as he popped some cashews into his mouth.
“Um, Roberto’s. It’s her favorite.”
“Yeah, I’m sure it was busy last night,” he stated.
“Yeah it was, had to wait over 45 minutes. Do you eat there often?” Viggo asked.
“Oh, on occasion I do, why?”
“How would you like to meet me for dinner there later today?” he asked hoping his friend would say yes.
Sean laughed “Didn’t you just eat there last night? Why would you want to go again?”
Viggo searched his brain for a sensible and believable lie. “I wanted to try this other dish there, but Chloe said the smell would make her sick. It really did look good.”
Sean pursed his lips together mauling over Viggos answer in his head. He knew Viggo very well and he knew his answer was a lie. Viggo usually wasn’t that great when lying. When they were in school Sean had to make up all the excuses or else they would be in big time trouble. But he decided to play along with Viggos game and see what was really going on with his friend.
“Sure,” he said after a while. What time do you get off today?”
“Seven,” he answered very relieved that Sean didn’t balk at the answer he gave. He knew it was hardly believable, but he had to come up with something.
“Sounds good mate,” Sean smiled as he patted Viggo’s on the back. “I need to get back to my patients now,” he grinned as he turned the corner and headed down the hall.
Viggo sank back in his chair. “Yes!” he grinned like he had just won the lottery. He sure hoped Orlando would be working tonight, he was very eager to see the young man again. Hoping to find out as much as he could about him.
~
Viggo combed his hair one last time looking in the mirror at his refection. He had gotten home early so he could shower and get dressed for the dinner with Sean. He looked over his closet for an eternity before deciding on black slacks and a blue shirt that made his eyes stand out even more than they already did. He smiled into the mirror satisfied with his reflection.
“What are you all dressed up for?” the calm voice asked from the doorway.
Viggo startled. “Hey, I didn’t hear you come in,” he said as he turned and looked at his wife.
“Do we have plans for tonight that I’ve forgotten about?” Chloe asked as she looked over her husband’s attire.
“Oh, no Sean wanted to meet me for dinner, he had some things he needed to talk to me about. Personal things,” he mumbled as he moved over to the dresser to retrieve his wallet.
“You dressed up for Sean?” she asked raising one eyebrow.
“It’s just a pair of pants and shirt Chloe,” he replied as he sat down and tied his shoes.
Chloe’s mouth turned into a tight frown. She knew Viggo hated to dress up and knew he hated to eat out, mostly when it was two days in a row. She stood there staring at him as he bent over. He had been acting odd since their evening at dinner. Then he had even the nerve to complain he had a stomach ache so he didn’t think he could be romantic with her after they had returned home. Good God, it was fucking Valentines Day! You always have sex on Valentines Day!
“Well, I hope you have a nice time then,” she muttered as she left the room in a huff.
Viggo winced as she left abruptly. ‘What was he doing?’ he thought as he rubbed his eyes. ‘He had never lied to her before.’ He knew he shouldn’t be doing this. Knew that deep down it was wrong. He shook his head again. ‘He hadn’t even done anything! He was just going to dinner with Sean and if he just happened to spy a young and handsome waiter while he was there…oh well!’
Viggo grabbed the car keys and tucked a bottle of cologne in his pocket and headed to the front door. Stopping to say goodbye before he left. Chloe sat on the couch stiffly as he leaned over and kissed her cheek.
“Don’t wait up for me okay?” he said, quietly.
She nodded and looked away.
Viggo felt his heart thudding as he opened the door and headed out into the night. For what, he really didn’t know?
