Squeak Thank you for everything. You were the one helping Waking Nightmare out of the cupboard and finally brought me back to my passion: writing. Thank you for your encouragement. You make me go on, honestly *hug* I wouldn’t know what to do without you.

)“Forgive me. I was wrong to despair.”
Aragorn smiled.
“Ú-moe edamed, Legolas.” (*There is nothing to forgive Legolas*)
He took the elf’s hand and pulled him close, gathering the delicate frame in his arms. No, there was nothing to forgive. This war was draining strength from all of them. He wished that his innocent Legolas wouldn’t have had to suffer like that. He was never meant to see so much death, to experience such grief and angst. Aragorn’s heart had been torn apart when his beloved insisted to be part of the Fellowship of the Ring. He would’ve rather known him safe in Rivendell. But he also knew how stubborn the blonde elf was, even through all his innocence.
And now they were here in Helm’s deep, a battle before them. Aragorn was scared, not for himself but for his beloved. He would die if something happened to Legolas. He kissed the elf, savoring every moment of it. It was the only light in this dark time. The only hope in the sea of hopelessness. The kiss held despair. No one knew if they would survive this night. The future which both had been imaging back in Rivendell was naught but a dream anymore.
“Lasse?”
“Yes melleth-nîn?”
“Do you remember? One year ago, when the world was still full of light and it was Christmas?” None of the men had cared that tonight was Christmas Eve. It didn’t matter in a time of war.
“How could I ever forget?” Legolas smiled lovingly, placing a kiss on Aragorn’s cheek. The man returned the smile and took Legolas’ hand in his to kiss it.
“Yes it was our first Christmas together and you gave yourself to me. Now that one year has passed, please grant me a wish.”
