Legolas was shy and still so innocent in every act of his and it made Aragorn’s wish to protect him even stronger. Legolas would seem old if the years he had already spent in Middle Earth were compared with that of a human, but for an elf he was still young, not older than 21 human years.
They had met for the first time in Rivendell and from the very first glimpse he caught of the fair elf Aragorn had been in love. The blonde was inexperienced when it came to the matters of love but elves could only love once in their lifetime, holding their partner dearly in their heart. When Legolas finally realized why he was feeling all warm and excited when Aragorn was near him he had shied away more at first. He was scared that the human would reject him. It took both of them a long time before they realized that the feelings were mutual. The time before that had been hard, pretending a friendship between them that they wanted so desperately to be more.
Still after all this time Aragorn could remember every detail of their very first kiss.
