Title: The Heir and His Bodyguard Chapter 3/20?
Author: Vatulele
Rating: R
Pairing: Viggo/Orlando
Summary: AU Orlando is a young heir who escapes an arranged marriage to fulfill his dream in the Spanish countryside but Orlando’s parents send Viggo a highly trained guard of the kingdom to bring him home…but Orlando’s not having it.
Based on the book “The Virgin and her Bodyguard” by Mindy Neff
Feedback: Sure doesn't everyone like some?
Disclaimer: None of this is mine; the basic idea was taken from Mindy Neff and her novel.

"...He is quite a specimen."

Orlando opened his mouth to voice his denial, realized it was useless and remained silent Viggo was very easy on the eyes. He had a presence about him that would draw the attention of a nun...a very old nun.

"Shall I bring Milo for the interview tomorrow?"

Still speculating on Viggo's looks, it took a moment for Orlando to bring his mind back around to business. "No. Milo is a definite for the layout. He's a love." He kissed the baby's fingers drawing a sweet giggle from the eight month old. "I will call you, though, when I get the schedule laid out."

Clearly Liv was reluctant to leave her gaze still darting suspiciously to Viggo. She pecked a friendly kiss on Orlando's cheek. "We'll talk my friend. Very soon."

Orlando watched Liv leave with baby Milo. Unable to stall any longer, he turned back to Viggo.

"Do your neighbors always walk in unannounced?"

"Yes. Especially when I have their baby."

"That's not a good habit."

"You walked in unannounced."

"Precisely my point. Your lack of common sense regarding your security makes me realize I've come just in the nick of time."

"Don't be fucking ridiculous. This is a small town. I have many friends. Safety is deffinately not an issue."

"Safety is always an issue where you are concerned and not just from other people."

"No. It's not. Not here, well, from other people at least. I am not Orlando Bloom the heir to the multi million dollar Bloom Fortune. I am merely a friend, neighbor and businessman.

"I can't belive your attitude. You were brought up to be careful. You were never unescorted...except when you gave us the slip," he said dryly.

Orlando shrugged and dismantled his camera equipment. "It was a game." He hadn't meant to admit that and was afraid he'd pounce on the words and ask for clarification. Viggo Mortensen loved to ask questions.

In England he was always there whenever Orlando tried to step out of the fortress, there to remind him of his duty and his place. He was obsessive about Orlandos security in a quiet, steely sort of way. Yet he seemed to get a kick out of watching Orlando bristle when he fell into step beside him like a shadow. It had become a game with Orlando, to see if he could shake him.

He could very well tell him that his earlier goals had been to provoke a reaction out of him.

A sexual reaction.

Thankfully Viggo let the subject drop, but the speculation in his intense blue gaze told him he'd filed the incomplete date in that sharp mind of his and reserved the right to call it up at a moment's notice. Orlando was only off the hook temporarily.

Unless he could get Viggo out the door and back to England where he belonged.

He saw him glance at his watch again. "How much time do you need?"

"For what?"

A muscle twitched in the corner of Viggo's eye. "To pack."

"I'm not going anywhere, I already told you that."

Orlando saw his chest expand as he took what she assumed was a calming breath. "Your father wishes otherwise."

"I know that's precisely whe I'm in Spain and not in England.

"Can you not conduct your business back in England?"

"Are you joking? My family views my art as a hobby. They are sure I will come to my saense. But it's not a hobby, Viggo. It's my bussiness." He had to make him understand. His family was both powerful and persuasive. And Viggo had the authority and backing to cary out their orders. Orlando didn't want to fight him on the matter but he would.

"So far, I am doing poster art and greeting cards, my own line. Soon, I hope to branch out, perhaps in publishing. The possibilities are unlimited."

"I appreciate that you enjoy your work Orlando, but face it, you don't need the money."

"This isn't about the money. It's about freedom, self-fulfillment. Living my own fucking life for once. I am the sole employee of my venture. I answer to no one but me."

"And that's important to you?"

"Very."

Viggo studdied him for a long moment, and Orlando struggled not to squirm.

"I imagine your name helps with the sales."

"You're wrong." Orlando nearly bent the leg of his tripod as she snapped it closed. "And I resent that insinuation. I am good at what I do, Viggo. Very good."

"Oh, Orli, you misunderstood. I didn't mean to imply that your name and status were all you had going for you. I can see your talent, hell, it's practically tangible." Viggo's gaze touched on the prints of babies that hung on every available wall space. "I meant that as an added bonus."

"As I told you, no one here knows that I am the Bloom heir. I have kept my background private. Here in Spain I am merely Orlando."

"But you have the distinctive look of a well bred, handsome, nobleman about you."

His heart lurched and he firmly pulled back on the reins of his runaway emotions. He wanted something from him. Compliance. And Orlando suspected he'd use any means to attain it.

"Flattery won't make me go with you."

Viggo shrugged,  a half smile touching his lips. "A fag like me can try. I understand guys like me like compliments."

"Sincere ones, yes, and I get plenty from the local young women."

"The young men here don't try for a quick shag?"

"Viggo, we're in a remote villiage in Spain. It's heavily Catholic which means fags like us are a no no."

"Well then, I'll be glad to show you what doing a no no is really like." He saw Orlando jolt, and saw the trembling in her fingers, the slight twitch at the corner of his full mouth. Before Viggo could feel smug Orlando astonished him with his next words.

"I ought to call your bluff."

Orlando Bloom had grown up. He hadn't expected Orlando to see right through him. Few did. Because he didn't allow it. He must be slipping.

"You think I'm bluffing?" He asked softly, dangerously, taking a step closer, drawing Orlando in, crowding him. He saw his nervousness, saw him fight it with the squaring of his broad shoulders.

"Put up or shut the fuck up Viggo Mortensen." His voice was strong, his dark eyes staring direct. Innocent eyes, asking for a taste of forbiden fruit.

Love the tension between them and it's a good thing to see Orlando standing up for himself.

Minor typo near the end and saw the trembling in her fingers should be his fingers, I think?

Another cute chapter. I love little baby Milo. You might want to proof read things one last time before posting though. I saw a few gender pronoun errors (she instead of he) as well as a couple of spelling mistakes: saense and you have whe instead of why in one sentence.

Keep up the writing though; I'm enjoying this story alot.

It may be cliche but you can cut the sexual tension with a knife between these two. Looking forward to reading more.
