"Ah! You finished it after all. You had me worried there for a moment, Viggo," Sean exclaimed as I handed him the wrapped canvass. Sean was a client, as well as a friend of mine. He had asked me weeks ago to do a painting for him. His firm was opening a new office and he just "had to have" something of mine for it. Personally, I think he just wanted to get me painting again. My muses had been somewhat absent for months; and that didn't change when I started on his project. I'd been having an incredibly difficult time finishing the damn thing before his deadline. I had ample motivation to finish it though. Sean was promising a good paycheck for it.

"It wasn't easy, but I hope you're satisfied," I replied.

"Exquisite, Viggo. Just what I wanted."

"You don't have to be nice, Sean. I know it's nowhere near my best work."

He smiled and shook his head a bit. "It's not horrid, Viggo. I love it, I honestly do. But...I will admit…it does seem as though it's missing your usual...flare."

See? I can read him like a book. "Yeah, well, I guess I'm just a little burnt out."

"You need to get laid."

My next comment was totally lost when he said that. Of course, I should have guessed. Sex is his solution for everything. "Sean, I don't need sex."

"Oh? When was the last time you got laid?"

"That's none of your business!"

He chuckled and clapped his hand on my back in a brotherly gesture. Why in the hell did I put up with him? "I'm just looking out for you, Vig. Go out. Get out of that house of yours and have some fun."

"Yeah..."

He handed me the check he owed me, and with a reassuring smile, turned and headed back inside his building. I tucked it in my wallet and looked around. It was a beautiful day out. Beautiful? That was the best I could come up with?

Maybe Sean was right. Maybe I did need to get out more...start having a social life. Of course I didn't want one like his. I wasn't sure how he handled all the people in his not so little black book. He treated it like his own personal bible.

I headed inside his building and walked straight to the elevator. The twelfth floor had a hallway lined with windows that had a pretty decent view of the city. Perhaps I could get some good sketches done before I went back home. I had a new exhibition approaching, and I was severely lacking material to display in it.

I stared out the large windows for a few moments, taking in all the sights spread out below me. The city to one side, and the river to the other. Both under the fading sunlight of the evening. I always got inspiration from being up here. The view was nothing short of...

"Stunning," I heard a voice say. Odd...just what I was thinking...

"Huh?" My attention turned from the windows to the source of the comment. Not more than four feet from me stood a heavenly creature. He had tanned, olive skin and dark chocolate curls framing his angelic face....in that moment, I knew my life would never be the same.

"The view from up here...it's stunning," my visitor clarified.

It certainly is... "Uh...yes. Yes, it is," I confirmed.

"You're Viggo Mortensen, aren't you?"

"That's right." He should just keep talking...

"I've been a fan of your work for years. I'm an artist myself. Well, at least I try to be," he said with a shy smile as he brushed a stray curl from his eyes. Fuck, he looked so familiar.

"Oh...well, thank you." I must have sounded like the least intelligent man on the planet. I couldn't come up with one decent reply to anything this young man said.

"I was walking past the building when I saw you go inside. I wasn't sure if it was you, but here you are. This is...it's really great to meet you. I mean, ever since I first saw your work, I knew I had to one day...and I'm rambling, aren't I?" he asked with a nervous chuckle.

I smiled and joined in his laughter. "Just a bit, yes."

"Sorry."

"No, no harm done."

"Listen," he started, shifting his weight from side to side as he spoke. "This might be presumptuous of me, but would you like to go for a drink?"

I nearly shouted 'YES!' at the top of my lungs. Get a hold of yourself, Mortensen. "Sure, that would be great."
~*~*~*

"Orlando Bloom? You? I had no idea..." I stammered in response to finally learning his name. What were the odds of me running into Orlando Bloom? How could he be sitting here, drinking with me? There's no way in hell I was that lucky.

"Yeah...most people don't. There's little published with my picture. I like my privacy," he explained. He looked terrified, like I would jump him any second. I have to admit that I wanted to; but I'd never do that to him...to anyone. Well...unless of course he wanted it. Then, I'd be more than happy to. Ease up on the drinking. You know you can't hold your liquor...

"You're so young...I always pictured you older."

"I'm not that young," Orlando replied somewhat defensively.

"No, no, I wasn't trying to insult you. Just...your work. There's so much insight..."

"For someone my age?" he supplied, a slight smirk on his face.

"Yes...no! No, that's not what I meant." Smooth, Mortensen. Fuck things up right from the start. No wonder you don't have a social life.

"How old do you think I am?" he questioned.

"I don't know...you can't be thirty yet."

Orlando took a sip of his drink and let out a small chuckle. "I should've bet you on that. I'm 28.

Fucking hell, I could be his father... I finished off my third shot. All I could do was sit there and stare at him. Not in shock, just in awe. This amazing human being...so talented and so full of life...how could he accomplish all that he had at such a young age? It made me wonder exactly what he'd been through. His sculptures, well, usually didn't leave you with a happy feeling when you looked at them.

"Stop thinking," he suddenly stated. I blinked out of my reverie. I hope I didn't make him uncomfortable.

"Sorry...I didn't mean to stare," I slurred

He was smiling again. Someone should tell him to stop. It's too addicting.

"It's okay. You're allowed."

Did he just say what I thought he did? Was Orlando hitting on me? I must have blushed then because I heard a soft chuckle from Orlando. I raised and eyebrow. What the hell was so funny?

"I'm sorry. I just...thought you were..." he trailed off, gesturing with his hand as if it should obviously mean something to me.

"What?"

"...interested," he finally stated.

"Gay?"

He laughed again, louder, as if I caught him by surprise. "Well...yes. I'm sorry though. I shouldn't have th--"

"I am...gay," I interjected, perhaps a bit too eagerly. Embarrassed, I picked up my shot of whiskey and quickly downed it. For a moment, I expected him to start laughing, but when I looked into his eyes, I swore I saw them light up. But perhaps, it was just wishful thinking...until he reached across the table and grabbed my hand.

"You wanna get out of here?"

More than you know...

Very interesting, Beth. I like shy bashful Viggo.

This is coming along nicely. I liked it, especially the end. Viggo's inner voice is so like him.

Do continue?
