Loop-de-loop smile so juicy and bright,
Soft as a tangerine.
Freckle marks he'd swear he hates,
But when I kiss them it makes him scream.

Beads of water tracing his neck,
So beautiful I forgot to breathe.
Boomerang lips finding a home in my ear,
Whispering, "Don't Leave"

Pressing, leaning, planning attack.
Loot, pillage, plunder, sack.

But I left him there,
Lying in the sand,
Crisp white shirt rucked way up high,
And I gathered the shattered remains of myself
As the sun glared down shards from the sky.
