Title: Perfect
Author: Vatulele
Pairing: Viggo/Orlando
Rating: PG
Summary: Viggo and Orlando visit the Los Angeles Animal shelter in hopes of finding the perfect dog to take home with them. This is the companion fic that goes with 'Man's Best Friend' by Me. You don't necessarily have to have read that but I would read it first before reading this.
Warnings: None
Disclaimer: FICTION, FICTION, FICTION, FICTION. None of this ever happened, and it most likely never will, if it does, I’m a psychic and you all should fear me! I do not know Mr. Mortensen or Mr. Bloom. I make no claims to their sexual orientation. I have the upmost respect for these two men and my hopes are that if they ever come across this feeble attempt at writing (which pales in comparasin to Mr. Mortensens written works) they'll laugh at it and know that no harm is intended to themselves or their (respective) character.
Feedback:Like eggnog on Christmas Eve, a must have. :)

Viggo held on to Orlando's hand as they drove to the Los Angeles Humane Society. Sidi had been put down five months ago but Orlando still missed the dog dearly. Orlando turned concerned eyes onto Viggo.

"I don't know about this, it seems too soon, I mean it can't hurt to look but...d'you think Sidi'd be mad at me for getting annother pup so soon?" Viggo tightened his grip on Orlando's hand.

"Orlando Sidi had no problem with you playing with Lila, he had no problem with you playing with any of Sebastian's dogs. He had no problem with you playing with any dog you saw. I don't think he'll mind you getting another dog to play with. He'd want you to have company on your jogs, Lord knows I'm to old to go with you." Orlando smiled.

"You're not old Vig, you're just...mature." Orlando grinned at his cleverness. Viggo swatted him.

"You're lucky you didn't say 'ancient', this car would be turned around in two seconds flat and when we got home I'd see how cheeky you could be when I-"

"Oh we're here! Park, park there!" Orlando bounced, pointing to a spot nearest to the shelter's kennel. Viggo rolled his eyes, for being in his forties Orlando still acted like a seven year old with ADHD when he was overly excited.

After checking in with the shelter's volunteer they walked in to the large kennel filled with all types of dogs and cats. They nodded hello to the young girl who was putting fresh water into the dogs dishes.

"Hi, I'm Audrey, if you two need any help with a dog or a cat, just call for me, and I'll help you out allright, I hope you find one, or two animals to take home with you." She smiled at them and returned to her chore.

Viggo wrapped a flannel covered arm around Orlando's shoulders. "I wish we could take them all home Vig. It's not right that they all can't have a home and someone to love them." Viggo hugged Orlando closer to him.

"The woman at the desk said some Labrador mix pups that looked around four months old were turned in this morning. Maybe theres a black one in bunch."

Orlando smiled and walked towards the area where the pups were held. They were adorable but, none really seemed to capture his heart. Viggo had wandered off to look at some of the older dogs by this time. Orlando was about to go join him when he saw it. This wonderfully awkward pup with huge paws, but short legs, a small head with floppy ears and big eyes and a long tail. It looked like a cross between a Basset Hound and something really big and it was perfect! "Come here baby." He gently called to the muttley pup slipping his fingers through the wire of the cage. Suprisingly the pup came straight away. It waddled over wagging its tail and occasionally stepping on an ear. Orlando smiled, this was deffinately the dog they were getting. "Hey Vig!" He called, smiling, "I've found our new pup." Viggo peered around the corner of row of cages.

"I've found one as well," Viggo said flashing his toothy grin. Orlando heard the volunteer girl walk up behind him and giggle.

"That's Simon, he's a sweetie. He's a mix between we think a German Shepard and a Basset Hound, it's an odd mix, but he'd adorable, so do you want him?" The girl asked. Orlando nodded, this pup was comming home with them. She smiled. "What about Mr. Mortensen's find? Would you like me to bring paper work for both dogs?" Orlando tore his gaze away from Simon to look for Viggo. Not seeing him he motioned for the girl to follow him.

Going around a corner they saw Viggo on his knees playfully scratching a beautiful Golden Retriever Mix. Audrey smiled, "Oh you found Sammy!" Both men looked up at the girl who was starting to tear up. "Thank God, it was his last day here, and I was so worried that no one would want him. I don't know why either, he's gorgeous! He's half Golden Retriever and half Border Collie he's two years old and so wonderful, you both are wonderful! I'll go get the paper work for Simon and Sammy, I'll do everything, all you'll have to do is sign the papers and they'll be yours. Thank you both so much." She said as she embraced the two men. Viggo and Orlando smiled at each other. They were going to be parents!

On the way home Simon fell asleep on Orlando's lap and Sammy sat happily in the back seat, reaching his head in between the two men every so often and giving them a nuzzle with his nose.

Viggo layed one hand over Orlando's and looked over at his husband smiling. "Congratulations Dad." Orlando smiled back.

"Congratulations Mr. Mom." Viggo restrained himself from swatting.

'Not infront of the children.' He told himself while plotting revenge.

*g* yay! Happy ending!
