Feedback would be a lovely little treat

“The food looks wonderful Sonia, thank you for having me over tonight.” Viggo said as he sat down at the table.

“ ‘Ey, don’t be dishing out all the comments to Mum, I cooked the green beans.”

“How is sticking the green beans in the microwave for a minute cooking?”

“Oh stop being mean Vig, just because I’m challenged in cooking and not a four star chef like the two of you doesn’t mean I can’t have my little accomplishments. I told you about Vig down in New Zealand didn’t I Mum? How he’d cook for me almost every night because all I was feeding myself were cans of tuna, cereal and salad.”

“ Yes I remember darling and I never did thank you properly for that Viggo, Orlando was already thin when he left, when he got back from filming I was shocked at all the weight he put on, and all because of your cooking. So you are always welcome in this house Viggo, and even if you weren’t I dare say Sofia would have something to say about that.” Viggo just smiled.

“Yeah Vig man, I think my daughter is in love with you or something, whenever you come over she always raves about you till the next time you come over.” Orlando said as he started to fill Sofia’s plate with a little of everything from the table.

“Kind of like you did when we first met?” Viggo said with an impish gleam in his eyes. Orlando blushed mumbled a ‘yes’ and placed a rather large forkful of meat loaf in his mouth.

“I’m done now, Daddy, don’t my hands look sparkly and clean?” Sofia put her hands on display for her father to inspect.

“Looks good to me, start eating.” Sofia stuck her tounge out at her father but took a bite of meat loaf anyway. “What time are you leaving tomorrow Vig?” Orlando asked while taking a bite of mashed potatoes.

“Probably around eleven and miss all the traffic. If I left at seven I’d be waiting in traffic for ever.” Sonia and Orlando nodded, Sofia started to arrange her green beans by size.

“You usually fly out of LAX yeah?” Viggo nodded, “So what brings on the change, not that driving isn’t fun, but it takes a hel...lot longer.” Orlando took a sideways glance at Sofia who hadn’t noticed his slip. “Stop doing that Pea, just eat them.” He said in reference to her green beans that were now sticking out of her potatoes.

Viggo laughed at what Sofia was doing to her potatoes, “Oh leave her alone Orli, she’ll eat them.” Looking back at Orlando he said, “Well I’d never driven all the way to Idaho before, I figured it would be an experience, get some new photographs, write some poetry, on the way. If you and Sofie really did want to come, I’d get some great new photo’s of the two of you, I think the last ones I have are from your thirty sixth birthday.”

“I’d get to model for you again Viggo? That was sooooooooo much fun last time, Daddy can we pleeeeeeeeeease go?” Sofia said looking up at him, her hands clasped across her chest giving her father a glance at his own brown puppy eyes with her trademarked sympathy pout.

“Eat some more green beans Pea.” Orlando said as he spooned Sofia another helping of the vegetable onto her plate. Looking across the table at his friend he really contemplated whether he should go or not. He knew no doubt about it Viggo would be great with Sofie he always had been, he knew that Sofie would most likely become just as talented a rider as her father and her honorary uncle by the end of the summer, his only doubt was whether his career could take yet another non-movie year. Summer was usually the time he took off from parenting and became an actor again. In his office there were ten scripts waiting for him to go over, and by the end of the week make a decision.

He glanced down at his daughter she was only eight but she looked about ten, she was very tall for her age, and with deep brown eyes and high cheek bones that almost mirrored his own, he realized she wouldn’t be ‘Daddy’s little Pea’ any more, she’d be wanting to be the new L.A. socialite. More interested in fashion, and getting her picture in the tabloids rather than spending time with her father and her fathers friends.

“Are you absolutely positively sure we wouldn’t be a nuisance to you Vig?” Orlando said looking straight into the older man's eyes. Viggo smiled and Sofia let out a yelp of joy, falling off her chair in the process.

"Owwie," Standing up her face lit up with a brilliant smile and she ran out of the dining room towards her own room shouting over her shoulder, "I'm going to go pack."

Feedback is wanted as well as a beta, and a banner maker but I'll be happy with just feedback.
This Chapter's kind of short but I got what I wanted out and the next chapter, 'day one of the road trip' will be up soon!

Hehe, nice. That's usually what I call my 'cooking'. Yay, road trip!
