Later that night Viggo had fallen asleep by Orlando’s side and Orlando just sat there still clasping his friends hand, “No matter what has happened,” he thought to himself, “Viggo’s always been there for me.” And with that he drifted off to sleep, a slight smile on his lips.

The hospital staff was amazed at Orlando’s improvement, not only had his attitude changed, his entire medical status changed as well, it seemed the better emotionally, mentally, and spiritually Orlando got, the better physically he got. At the end of the month he was able to use crutches for extended periods of time, at the end of two months, he could walk on his own and jog for short periods of time. Finally at the end of three months Orlando was finally ready to go home. He’d been in the hospital for a total of seven months but it was the last three that had really made the difference. Orlando of course would have to continue going to physical therapy three times a week for two months, then for a month he’d go twice a week, then the last month once a week. Of course his regular activities were encouraged, swimming, jogging, playing with his daughter, and his dogs, although nothing too strenuous, and for three years Orlando’s life went on, however, March 18th was always a hard day.

A knock on the door roused Orlando from his thoughts, his now eight year old daughter Sofia walked in smiling, “Granmama said you wanted to see me Daddy?” she asked as she walked towards him and climbed on his lap.
“Yeah Pea, I did, now I want to talk to you about your Momma.”
“It is now three in the afternoon on a beautiful May day here in Los Angeles, and coming right up is the new single from sexy singer Natasha Beddingfield”
It was Sofia’s last day of school before the summer holidays and Orlando was waiting in front of her school in a long line of cars waiting for their elementary aged children. Hearing the school bell ring signaling the end of the day, Orlando turned off the car and proceeded to step out and wait for his daughter just as he did every day in front of his vehicle.
It took her around ten minutes to get out of the school, she was probably saying goodbyes for the summer to her teacher and friends but then he saw her running down the steps of the school her long, straight brown hair, pulled back into a pony tail, bobbing up and down behind her.
“Hey Pea! How was school did you have a good day?” Orlando asked as he grabbed his daughter in a tight hug and swung her around. Still giggling when her father set her down Sofia opened the car door and climbed into the back seat.
“Yeah today was fun Daddy! We watched Pirates today! And then we had to write a page about what we thought was the best thing about the movie, then we had to read it to the class.” Orlando smirked.
“And what did you say was your favorite thing hmm? That your Daddy is the coolest pirate that ever lived?”
Sofia giggled again, “Nuh-uh, I said my favorite thing was that Uncle Johnny always says funny words. Like when you hit him with the boat paddle and he went all funny!”
Orlando clutched a hand to his heart and said, “Oh I’m so insulted, your dear ole’ Da isn’t even one of your favorite things in that movie!”
For the rest of the ride home, Father and daughter bickered over their own favorite parts and lines of the movie, until Orlando finally stated she was going to get a major tickling if she didn’t stop disagreeing.
“Oh my two favorite people are home!” Sonia Bloom said as her son and granddaughter walked into Orlando’s house. “Did you have a great day at school love?” she asked Sofia as her granddaughter took off her shoes and socks.
“Mmhmm Granmama, my whole class got to watch Daddy’s first pirate movie, my teacher Mrs. Marrek said she was only 13 when the movie came out so that makes Daddy ooooooold.”
“So what does that make me young lady?” Sonia asked pretending to be stern.
“Ancient,” Orlando said giving his mother a kiss before his daughter could get out a word. Sonia playfully swatted her son with dish towel and a, ‘you better watch it’ look in response.
“Viggo’s coming over for dinner tonight, loves, I was talking to him on the telephone earlier today and he said he’s going to drive to his ranch in Idaho...or was it Illinois...”
“Idaho Mum,” Orlando said, correcting her.
“Yes all right then, Idaho, and it is a pretty long drive so I figured we could give him a proper send off with some good home cooked food. I’m thinking either pot roast or meat loaf, which one do you prefer Sofie?”
“Hmm?” Sofia said looking up from the blank pages of computer paper she was about to color on, “Oh I want meat loaf for dinner please.”
“Okay good, I was thinking that too. Orlando start peeling some potatoes for me please dear.” Orlando smiled and walked into the pantry searching the bottom shelves for a bag of potatoes.
When Viggo arrived at the Bloom residence dinner was still around fifteen minutes from being done, so doing what any free sprited hippy esque artist would do, he sat down and started coloring on computer paper with Sofia.
“Viggo?” Sofia said, looking up at the sandy haired man through her thick eyelashes.
“Yes Sofie?” He replied in almost the same tone.
“Why are you going to Idaho, don’t you like it here in Los Angeles?” Sofia sensing dinner was almost ready started to stack up her drawing and put away the crayons.
“Well, Sofie, I do like it here, it’s just that I have another house called a ranch in Idaho, it’s where I keep my horses and I want to go visit them for a while.” He replied helping Sofia pack up her coloring supplies.
“Oh, I wish I could ride horses more often, my friend Olivia had ponies at her last birthday, I rode a really pretty Indian pony named Felix for two hours, he was so soft after I finished riding him his owner let me help him take off his saddle, and briddle, and I got to brush him too. I wish Daddy would get a ranch in Idaho too so we could have horses, and then we could go visit your horses too.” Sofia began to pout. “Daddy!” She shouted as she picked up her coloring supplies and deposited them into her back pack.
“Yes Pea Baby?” Orlando said as he helped his mother place the food onto the kitchen table.
“I want to go with Viggo and ride his horses for the summer.” Orlando looked past his daughter to Viggo who was shrugging and gesturing in a way that meant, ‘don’t look at me, but if she want’s to it’s fine’.
“Okay, go wash your hands first, then we’ll talk about it while we eat okay?”
“Okay Daddy.” Sofia smiled sweetly and skipped through the dining room, and through the hall untill she got to the hall bathroom.
“USE SOAP!” Orlando shouted to her.
“I DID ALREADY!” Sofia shouted back.

The next chapter will be up soon! Thanks for all of your kind comments from before!

*is confused* Ummm....Did I miss something? What happened between the first chapter and this one? It seems that there's a huge time gap. Other than that, I thought it was a good chapter.

Aww! This is adorable! I love Orlando calling Sofia "Pea," it's so cute. Looks like Viggo may become a constant figure in Orlando's life if Sofia wants to go to his ranch, eh? *wink* Great chapter!

I left a comment on the first part, but I have another comment... the part A knock on the door roused Orlando from his thoughts, his now eight year old daughter Sofia walked in smiling, “Granmama said you wanted to see me Daddy?” she asked as she walked towards him and climbed on his lap.
“Yeah Pea, I did, now I want to talk to you about your Momma.”

is this supposed to be seperate? It sort of leads right into the next part and doesn't make a lot of sense...
it's great overall, though! I love Orli as a daddy and I can't wait for him to hook up with Vig ;)
