“We can’t let him get away with this.”
“I think he already has.”
Viggo smiled and pulled Orlando closer. “He doesn’t need to know that.”
“What are you thinking?”
“That we can have a little fun with our good friend and his accomplice.”
“Accomplice?”
“Someone made that call to him. Considering the trouble he took to get us both there, he didn’t leave that to chance.”
“Who?”
“The hobbits can’t keep a secret and Liv would have insisted on being more proactive. Ian?”
“Karl.” Orlando sounded certain.
“Oh?”
“Sean likes having an excuse to call Karl.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Mix
“Your plan has hit a snag.”
Karl? “What do you mean?”
“Viggo gave Orlando his blessing to date you.”
“He did what?” Sean was definitely awake now.
“Apparently he thinks Orlando wants to go out with you.”
“Why? Orlando’s not exactly my type.”
“He said he recognizes the signs of attraction.”
“Although obviously not the person at whom it's directed." Sean paused. “Please tell me Orlando didn’t say anything to him.”
“He denied it, which Viggo thinks is another sign.”
“This is a mess.”
“Yes.”
“You’re not helping.”
“I called you, didn’t I?”
“We need to fix this.”
“We?”
“Yes.”
Sit
“Sean again?”
Orlando glanced at his phone and nodded. “Six times in the last two and a half hours. He must really want to talk to me.”
“I’d say so.”
“Think I should call him back?”
“Not yet. Let him stew a bit more.”
“You’re evil.”
“While I appreciate his efforts, you can’t really blame me for wanting to get back at him.”
“Of course not.” Although they really did owe Sean, but they could thank him later. After they had a little fun.
“And we’re returning the favor.”
“I’m going to let you explain that to him.”
“Trust me.”
Boil
“He’s not returning my calls.”
“Are you sure you’re not dating?” Karl knew he shouldn’t be amused by Sean’s predicament, but he couldn’t help himself.
“That’s not funny.”
“Yes it is.”
“Only because Viggo didn’t give his blessing for Orlando to date you.”
“I don’t need Viggo’s blessing. And Orlando’s not really my type.”
“Orlando’s everyone’s type.”
“That’s not what you said earlier.”
“Can we get back to the point?”
“There was one?”
“There has to be a way to get them back on track.”
“First, they have to realize they’re off track.”
“Are you going to help me?”
“Always.”
Whip
“Karl’s in town, Sean wants all four of us to get together for dinner. He’s going to call you.”
“He’s not planning on setting us up with Karl, is he?”
Orlando stuck his tongue out at Viggo. “I didn’t ask him, but I don’t think so.”
“Just checking. “
“Disappointed?”
“No, Karl’s not really my type.”
“Oh?”
“He’s not you.”
Orlando blushed. “Yeah, well, he’s not you either.”
“Sean must have a new plan.”
“Maybe we should tell him-“
“I think he needs to suffer some more. Especially if he’s meddling again.”
“I’m very glad we’re on the same side.”
Freeze
“Orlando?”
“Hey, Karl. Perfect timing. I think we’re the first to arrive.”
“Looks like it.” Where was Sean? He was supposed to be here already. “Where’re the other two?”
“I don’t know. Not here yet, I guess. You ever think they might get back together?”
“Sean and Viggo?” Was he serious?
“Yeah. I mean, they were good together and they’re still friends, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Vig hasn’t dated anyone since they broke up.”
“That doesn’t mean he’s pining for Sean.”
“Sean hasn’t dated anyone either. Not seriously anyway.”
Where the hell was Sean? Karl was not prepared to deal with this.
Divide
“Sean seems a little preoccupied.”
Viggo nodded and kissed Orlando, not really wanting to talk about his ex.
“Seriously. I don’t think I’ve seen him this nervous, except maybe on an airplane.”
“It’s good for him.” Trapping Orlando against the sink, Viggo kissed him again.
“Viggo!”
“What? Something wrong?”
“I’m trying to be serious.”
“I’m trying to make out with my boyfriend. I think I’m having more fun than you.”
“Karl.”
“What about him?” Not that Viggo really cared.
“Is there something you two wanted to tell me?”
Turning around, Viggo sighed. “I knew I should have locked the door.”
Serve
“I thought you got lost. Did you find Viggo and Orlando?”
“They’ll be along in a minute.”
“Everything okay?” Karl seemed a little distracted.
“I promised I wouldn’t say anything.”
“That’s not reassuring. What’s going on?”
“It’s not my place to say anything.”
“Tell me.”
“Orlando’s a little upset, Viggo’s trying to comfort him.”
Sean didn’t like the sound of that. “What’s wrong?”
“You haven’t shown any interest in him.”
Karl had to be kidding. “What?”
“Listen, I think he might have been crying, so don’t say anything about it when they return.”
“But--”
“Sh. Here they come.”
Fuck.
