A middle-aged magistrate, down on his luck and guilty from his previous acts in life, chances upon his next beautiful young clerk in a wretched almshouse. Against his better judgment Viggo brings the fair youth into his life. What has he done to himself? Worse yet, can the obsessed with beauty Viggo control himself? Jealous guilt spreads her midnight wings and waits for her tormented chances.
Chapter 7 Summary: VO 1st POV. Viggo thinks his ritual Charles Town visit will offer him more dreary backwoods trials, but his old friend Finchie dangles a dream before the stunned magistrate. Yet will Viggo’s true obsessive dream finally come to him in warm, smooth boy flesh? And if Orlando does, will Viggo finally overcome his nagging guilt?
