I want to introduce Cody, Orlando's boyfriend... =D
*2003
Orlando sat on a white leather couch at his boyfriend’s sea -shore house. He had just come to him. They were supposed to leave soon to party somewhere. Cody was showering at the moment, the sound of water running upstairs floated to Orlando’s ears. Orlando took the remote control from the table and pointed at the huge plasma-TV with it. He relaxed back down when something worth watching came out.
Upstairs Cody had only opened the faucet. Now he was leaning against the sink staring at his reflection. His eyes were blood-shot and he didn’t feel that good. Then he cast his eyes down onto a heap of white powder on the toilet seat. Kneeling fast he took that small straw he had made of paper and sucked it all in through his nose. Sniffling he rose up and undressed himself stepping under the warm water.
Orlando was a little impatient. Cody had been up there too long it seemed. What was he doing? Was he alright? Leaving the living room Orlando ran the stairs up straight to the bathroom door. He hit it with his fist. “Cody, you there? You okay?” Behind the door the water stopped running and Cody came to open the door a smile on his face. “Yeah, nothing’s wrong. I just got a little carried away. Sorry. I was thinking of you, babe.” That brought a smile on Orlando’s face. “Okay, just hurry up, will you. We have a party to go.” Giving Orlando a searing kiss Cody smiled and closed the door.

The party had ended at about five in the morning. Orlando’s head hurt and all he wanted to do now was to go home, take a painkiller and get some sleep. They both needed to sleep. In the afternoon they would leave to an island somewhere in Malaysia. Cody had insisted on introducing him to his step-dad. Guess it was time, Orlando thought. They had been an item for three years.
Their relationship had started out in a theatre. Both of them had been in the same play, Brokeback Mountain, Cody playing Ennis Del Mar and Orlando Jack Twist. The play was about two men, a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy who find love amongst all things in 1963. Somewhere there their private lives had taken a turn and they fell in love. Cody was a few years older than Orlando but it didn’t bother them. They were a perfect couple and from day one they knew it was meant to be.
“Luv, I need aspirin so I’ll just go home, take the pill and go to sleep. You’ll pick me up later, yeah?” Orlando asked as he grimaced from a jolt of angry pain in the back of his head. “Oh, poor baby. Of course I’ll pick you up. Now, go, take good care of yourself or…. You could always come to my place. I know something that cures a head ache way better than aspirin.” Cody winked an evil smile on his face. “We could go to yours early enough tomorrow so that you can get ready. How’s that sound?” Orlando just moved and pressed himself against his boyfriend and kissed him. “Make the pain go away…”
An hour later Orlando lay naked on the bed sleeping, no sign of a head ache anywhere. Cody smiled running his fingers along his boyfriend’s side. With one happy sigh he took a better position and closed his eyes too. Life was perfect.

At eleven Cody gently kissed Orlando’s lips waking him up. “Good morning, beautiful.” Orlando rubbed his eyes, yawned and smiled. “Morning.” “It’s 11:00 AM, gorgeous. Time to wake up.” “Yeah…” Giving another kiss to Orlando Cody slid out of the bed and made his way downstairs to make breakfast, scrambled eggs, toast and tea. Orlando stretched, yawned again and picked his boxers up from the floor pulling them on.
Downstairs he met Cody humming some Rolling Stones’ song and moving his hips from side to side. Orlando can’t help but laugh at the sight. With that Cody spun around a wooden spoon in his hand. “Smells delicious…” “I think it tastes good. I don’t intend on poisoning you or anything. Only give you what’s best, what you truly deserve.”
Yes. What Orlando truly deserved. But he never thought he would have to suffer from something he didn’t even commit. He never even guessed that things were going to change, never paid a thought to a possibility he might have to fight for his own life.
