A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

‘What unseen memories did this room hold?’ wondered The Manor’s new curator. Pleasures and passions known only to these opulent furnishings.

He, too, had read the legend of the exotically-named lovers – Orlando and Viggo – who’d lived in a bygone time when love between men was censured. How they’d loved and dreamed in secret in this very room, and whose spirits were said to return each year on Midsummer’s Eve.

Legend? Maybe . . . But he smiled, noticing the bed hangings were not quite as he’d arranged them, and the bed coverings were not quite as he’d folded them the night before . . .
