After seeing the Orlando/Kate pics, I felt the need to put on paper some thoughts that I already had running through my mind for a couple of months.

This poem is angsty, I´m afraid.


Anyway; I want to share it...

Bloom in winter

The door is locked
I can’t enter my own house of cards
now scattered all over the wooden floor.
You got here sooner
with the single purpose of destroying all I have built
while being watched by your brown eyes
that have never revealed everything;
only enough
to have me begging you to show me
the other world…
I have asked some things of you:
things of great value
ordinary things
things that wouldn’t fade away at the end of a season
things that would fly for the both of us
when I had already dropped my brush
designed for perfect endings.
You are trying to forget the songs, the poems I’ve whispered in your ear
you are planning to disappear from the face of this earth
onto a planet where I won’t find a trail
of you and your scared child like ways:
the bitten lips and the trembling legs.
You try hard, but you aren’t able to succeed
if I am still the smell, the air
the patterns and shapes
the whole space
of all the places you got to.
The love we make
won’t dissipate into thin air
just because you wish it would
but still, you will keep running away
until you find a dead end…
Why can’t things be simple,
and why can’t we make lemonade out of lemons?
I am begging you to unlock all the doors
and let me in
but you don’t let me in
anymore.
The scars in my heart are the only kind of thing that still grows;
why won’t flowers bloom in winter?
