I have this kind of thing that I love. Listening to songs that remind me of my OTP(s) and whenever I find a song fitting to them and I like it too it is magical. Here are some (or many, I don't know how it will develop) songs that remind me of Orlando and Viggo the way I see them. It would be great to know if you can relate too. Listen if/when you have the time and will, of course :)

I see it more of Viggo's point of view. "I feel like I'm falling for you/But I'm scared to let go/I'm scared 'cause my heart has been hurt so/And I've got to be sure 'cause it's been so long/And I cannot take the pain again/If it all goes wrong" I sense some fear, reluctance and doubt here, something I can see in Viggo's poems as well. Plus, Viggo has mentioned that he has had his heart broken many many times, so... Before AND after Orlando, I suppose. For various reasons, obviously.

While this sounds like a definite separation song, there are still some parts that remind me of them "You are older than me. Was I too childish for you?/Before I knew it, I had nowhere to go (I can relate it to the time after NZ, Orlando had to make big changes in his life, move and leave behind family and friends and Viggo. Take on a life that would be totally different from what he knew. He must have felt lost for a period.)/I'm lonely, I miss you, I want to hear your voice/I stand there clutching my cellphone (totally something I could imagine them feeling.)/It hurts, I'm sad, I want to touch you/Those fun days won't leave me/I dreamed of eternity, but it didn't exist (NZ was like a dream after all)

~ Just for a Moment - Austere ~
"Oh, please, why won't you take me away? (away from this make-believe and exhausting world Orlando is living, to save him from this situation)/Just suppose, suppose for a moment it was not, not just a dream"

~ To Blossom Blue - Lake of Tears ~
"A little something I know, a little somewhere I go reminds me of you/I'm breaking, I'm breaking but I cannot bear to/I'm staring, I'm staring but I cannot see you/For no more are you to lay by my side/I'm weeping, I'm weeping no more than this second time" Again, sad, angsty seperation. :(

Truly sad and beautiful, and something I can imagine Viggo thinking amd worrying about in the early stages of their relationship. That he will destroy Orlando, deprive him of his future. *sigh*

It reminds me of two things:

1. First Light. Specifically the lines:
you pushed my arms
out from our hips, bloody
paws suspended

Seems like a moment of uncertaincy. Rejection, I don't know if it is definite, but it is a kind of rejection, whether it ended up in a rejection or not.. To put it more clearly, I think, if the "you" of the poem refers to Orlando, that he was reluctant, afraid of something. Consequencies, doubts, insecurity? I can't tell for sure. Maybe all of them.

2. Apart

ATTRACTION TO LEAVE TOWN
BUT KEEP CHECKING
IF I'M STILL AROUND.

Again, reluctancy, doubts, guilts, fears, shame, maybe, insecurity, keep the person away from the narrator, but he still looks for him. That tells me that the person loves and wants the narrator, despite his confusion. He can't keep away from him. He comes back for more, again and again. It's temptation in its finest form. Depressing, too. Just imagine how that person would feel...

A sappy song for a change. Anticipation of comeback. Orlando had once said that he loves the feeling of counting the hours, minutes and seconds until he can meet again with someone. :)

~ Hungry Eyes - Eric Carmen ~
No explanation needed. I just get happy whenever I listen to this precious song. :D

~ A Case of You - Joni Mitchell ~
Yes, the song Viggo posted... 10? years ago on PP.

Never heard of most of these songs, but I see why they are on the playlist based on the lyrics. A Case of You - absolutely. Vig had it on the PP site? I adore that song, and it always makes me think of him. I had it on my personal list for songs for my fic "Ordinary World."

For me, "Between the Bars" by Elliott Smith has always been 'my' VO song.

I don't know most of the songs you mentioned, but judging from the lyrics you posted, I can absolutely see how they could apply. I'll need to listen to them soon :)

I've never heard of Elliot Smith before, but damn that song is lovely as is his voice! I must check him out. Thanks for this! And of course I get VO feels by loads from the lyrics. :D Thank you, I am glad you understand me. :D Listen well! ^^

I'm usually not a big fan of song-fics, but I've always wanted to write one for "Between the Bars" and an accompanying one from the other perspective to the lyrics of Placebo's "Bosco". Somehow these two songs make sense in my head as a VO-arc.

Another song that always gives me VO feels (particularly now that my TIVA ship in NCIS, where I first heard that song, has been sunk forever) is "All we are" by Matt Nathanson. Another lovely piece of music, wonderful lyrics and a great, great singer.

Yes, he does have a lovely voice. :) BtB and Bosco would definitely go well together. BtB from Viggo's POV and Bosco from Orlando's. This sounds interesting! Inform me if/when you do it, if you can/want. Hmmm I just listened to "All we are" and I can't say I was captivated, but I can relate to VO quite much and his voice is nice too. :)
