Elvish terms:

Tencave-Yes
Le Melon-I love you
Nin Meleth-My love
Ae ú-esteliach nad...estelio han. Estelio ammen-If you trust nothing else, trust this. Trust us.

Aragorn walked through the forest in Lothlorien, he saw Legolas sitting by the edge of the river. Something that was foreign to Aragorn. He would more expect Legolas to be taking in the beauty of the realm of Lorien; a distant reminder of his own home. Instead here he was, deep in thought. "What troubles you my elven friend?" Aragorn asked unsure he really wanted to know the answer. He hated to see Legolas in pain, but now what he saw in his eyes was more than the stress of the fellowship, or the fall of the Gandalf. What more, he knew Legolas better than he knew his 2,091 year old self. To know enough when he was grieving, when he was hurting, or when something was weighing heavily on his mind. Aragorn saw and felt that something was troubling him. He sat next to him. Even though Legolas felt Aragorn's approach before he said or did anything.

Legolas continued to look out into the distance when he finally responded. "Are we not past the 'friend' stage, Aragorn?" He turned to meet Aragorn’s eyes, "After all that has happen between us?"

Aragorn lowered his head, he ran his hand from his side and across the grass to glide on top of Legolas’s.  Aragorn looked back into his sparking eyes, "Forgive me".  Aragorn said pleadingly. Legolas lifted Aragorn's hand to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on it. "You need not ask for forgiveness, love. I know you are worried about the remaining members of the fellowship since the fall of Mithrandir; that now you alone must be the leader you were born to be.  I know it would be too much for you to conflict what you have to do by continuing our relationship."

It still amazed Aragorn the way they could read each other. But Legolas was right to a point. It would be too much for Aragorn to continue in his affair with the elven prince but not for the reasons Legolas stated; it was because Aragorn could not bare to lose him too. "You trust me?" Aragorn asked softly, moving his hand to run gently through Legolas’s golden hair. Legolas looked at him like he had a choice other than ‘yes’. "Why do you ask such things, my Lord? I put my life and heart in your hands as do you. Of course I trust you, Aragorn, you have never gave me any reason not to."

Aragorn’s daze showed Legolas a thousand emotions and all the love he had to give.  Aragorn was glad to hear that Legolas had not lost faith in him.

"I know this to be true, now will you trust me enough to tell me what lays so heavily on your heart?" Aragorn asked his face already constructed with worry.

Legolas could not bare to keep the truth from him, but he also did not think he could put another burden on him. Legolas lowered his head causing Aragorn’s hand to fall away from him. Legolas brought his knees up to his chest, "You should take your rest, Aragorn, you need your strength more than any of us."

Aragorn wrapped his arm around Legolas's shoulders. "The sooner you talk to me, the sooner I can rest." Aragorn told him, knowing how Legolas hated for him to worry about him. Legolas grew an anxious look across his face. "When I tell you this, I don't think you will be getting any rest tonight or any night for a very long time." Aragorn could see that Legolas was stalling, hoping he would drop the subject and leave. But Aragorn would not be swayed. "Can I be the judge of my own cause?" Aragorn asked turning to take Legolas by the shoulders in an attempt to force him to open up. “I’m here, Greenleaf, and I always will be. Remember that!”

Without verbally responding, Legolas then shocked him a little when he leaned in to kiss him. It took a few seconds but Aragorn responded by sliding his hands from Legolas’s shoulders and wrapping his arms around Legolas's lower body. Legolas pushed him back onto the grass, loosening his own vest to uncover his tunic beneath it. He tossed the vest in the grass. He ran his hand between Aragorn’s thighs. Aragorn moaned, but in the back of his mind he knew what Legolas was doing. Legolas was using love making as a tool to keep his mind at ease. Something he’d done many a time; this time was different, it was desperation. Aragorn fought between pushing Legolas away until he got to bottom of his angst but Aragorn missed his touch. He needed his touch. The man pulled the elf’s tunic over his head. He bit into Legolas's shoulder blade taking in the scent of his warm, pure body that was smelled like the forest, fitting for his name. Legolas breathed against Aragorn, "Tell me, Estel, will you take up your rightful place as king, or continue to be ranger? Will you ever give up that life and stay with me?" The question sounded like something Legolas had talked to him about before. Legolas began to kiss his way down Aragorn's hairy chest that always made him blush against his own smooth one. Legolas tried to ease down Aragorn's pants, until Aragorn griped his wrist. "Before we continue, you must talk to me. The last time you called me Estel was when you finally told me you loved me all those years ago, so this must be just as important. Legolas please." Aragorn said releasing him only to start gliding his fingers gently up and down the elf’s back. Legolas laid his head down on Aragorn's chest, listening to the rhythm of his heart. Aragorn used his other hand to soothe up and down Legolas’s face, "It's ok, I'm not going anywhere. I would never leave you if that’s what you’re worried about. The ranger, I can put away; you need me to be king, I can be that too."

Legolas lifted his chin on Aragorn's chest to look up at him. "That's just it, it’s not just about me anymore." Legolas rolled off Aragorn onto his back on the ground. Aragorn looked at him, concern still reeling when Legolas hesitated before taking his hand in his. Legolas slowly moved Aragorn’s hand across his bare stomach. Aragorn felt the bump there and quickly removed his hand. "Legolas, how? When?" He asked even though he knew the answers to his own questions.

"You know all to well the magic that lies with my race, Aragorn." Aragorn nodded, "Yes of course I know this, but like I told you before it is very rare for Mirkwood elves. It is close to impossible that this could happen between us." Legolas slightly smiled. "You are a descendant of numenor and I am a wood elf and we are both male. How many of that paring do you know of in a relationship?" Aragorn nodded, "Right you are as usual; so this is real you’re going to have my child." Aragorn stood up pulling Legolas with him, we're going to be a real family he said joyfully wrapping his arms around him, spinning him. Legolas grinned breaking it when he saw Aragorn face change into distress. Aragorn brushed his forehead against Legolas's, "What am I going to do now, Legolas? I can't be a leader with you in this condition and you...you just simply shouldn't be here. I want you to go home, I need you to be safe." Aragorn brushed back Legolas’s hair and slowly broke the embrace attempting to shied himself from anymore bodily contact of the elf. Feeling his touches had already done too much. Legolas grabbed his wrist, "No, I won't leave you. We are in this together."

Aragorn turned to stare into his eyes, he sighed, "Why are you being so stubborn? You're pregnant!" He shouted unintentionally, wishing immediately he hadn’t snapped at him. This wasn’t his fault. Legolas of course understood Aragorn’s emotions as always.

Legolas took Aragorn's face in his hands, "And I love you, how can I leave you now?" Legolas placed a sweet kiss on his lips, Aragorn returned it allowing himself the let the tears he'd been holding in fall down his face. Before he allowed himself to lose control he pulled back turning, away from Legolas. He began to head back through the forest, but was stopped.

"You are angry with me." Legolas called after him in more of a statement than a question. "No." Aragorn replied simply without looking back and continued walking until he disappeared through the trees. Legolas was now left with nothing but sounds of the elves lement for Gandalf. He sat back down on the ground wondering if he made a mistake telling Aragorn. Maybe the mistake was getting involved with Aragorn but he loved him; for years he has. Legolas knew in his heart he couldn't fight it then anymore then he could fight it now.

Aragorn walked back to camp, the remaining members of the fellowship were asleep. He knew he would find no rest just as Legolas had warned. Aragorn knew he should go back to him, in fact it took everything in him not to. But he resisted, he sat down in the tent falling to the side on the soft feather pallet. Sleep took him over, followed by much more...

Third Age 3017

Aragorn left Gollum for Gandalf to deal with, he spoke briefly with Thranduil before he took his leave from Mirkwood.

He began to leave the halls when a beautiful young blond elf appeared in the doorway. "Father, I thought heard you." Legolas’s voice was slow and peaceful and the most purest sound Aragorn had ever heard.

“Oh, yes, Legolas, I am here; come, son.” Thandruil said rising from his chair to walk to Legolas’s side.

Aragorn stopped in place, entranced by the young prince.

"I do not mean to be rude, Estel, I should have introduced you. You will someday be taking your dealings with my son, although he is not much into that at this time. This is my son, Legolas. Legolas meet Estel."

Legolas smiled, "Estel? Aragorn? You are Isildur's heir here in the flesh?" Legolas asked with the most admiration. Aragorn was finally able to nod, "Aye, I am." Aragorn extended his hand, Legolas took it giving him a smile so magical that Aragorn felt crystals could replace the tears that were building up at his beauty.

Thranduil knocked Aragorn out of his reverie when he spoke, "I am certain my son can finish his own introductions as I have much to do with the White Council. I will take my leave; Estel, do not be a stranger now." The king gracefully walked past them patting Legolas on his shoulder.

"Shall I walk you out." Legolas said sweetly. Aragorn followed Legolas out the meeting hall and down the marble stairs. The young prince walked with such grace much like his father and fitting for the elves. But he was different and Aragorn couldn't keep his eyes off of him.

Legolas walked with him through the pathway towards the entrance of the great kingdom, "Shall I see you again, Aragorn? Like my father said, you need not be a stranger." Aragorn smiled and nodded, "If you would like, I too would like that."

Legolas blushed.

Aragorn felt his heart melting. "I have never seen you in Rivendell." Aragorn said knowing he could never have missed an elf as beautiful as he.

"I usually stay away from my father's business ventures, now maybe I have reason to follow him." Legolas responded alluringly.

Aragorn didn't want Legolas to see how happy that made him but being raised by elves he knew there was no getting by them. Legolas wanted to laugh at how bashful Aragorn was being, "I will see you soon then." Legolas said opening the glass door for the ranger.

Aragorn smiled and waved back as he continued out to his horse. He got on looking back once more wanting to hold on to the memory of the prince’s face; a face that could never be forgotten. He then rode off through the forest.

Legolas jumped when his father came up behind him, startling him when he touched his shoulder. "Father!" He felt like cowering when his father stern eyes met his. "Legolas, you know he is one of the Dunedain."

Legolas gulped, "Yes."

"And you are from Mirkwood." Thranduil added residing his tone

"Yes, father." Legolas continued to feel himself shrinking.

"Do you understand what I am saying?" Thranduil asked gripping Legolas shoulders.

Legolas slowly nodded. He knew exactly what his father was saying and for once in his life he wished what his father had told him were not true.

"Be careful." Thranduil warned with his voice and his eyes. But something else Legolas saw, fear.

"Yes, father." Legolas said obediently, Thranduil turned and left leaving Legolas to look after him.

Legolas always obeyed the elder, but this time was different. With this man he did know if he could be careful.

*~*~*

The man and elf began to spend every free moment they had together like it was their last. They laid naked, cuddled against a tree in Mirkwood Forest, "Why do you continue to be a ranger? You are to be king, Aragorn. Why won't allow yourself to be that?" Legolas asked running his hands across Aragorn’s strong arms that were wrapped around him. Aragorn sighed, "It’s easier to live in this world than the world of men. Men are selfish, greedy." He said spitefully.

Legolas patted his leg comfortingly, "I think I would see you more in the world of men." They both laughed. Legolas took Aragorn's rough hands into his own soft ones. "Aragorn do you get scared of our relationship?" Legolas asked recalling his father’s first warning and every warning after.

"The only thing that scares me is how much I love you." Aragorn said giving him a brief kiss. But Aragorn could see that was not what Legolas was asking. He attempted to comfort the elf, only to have Legolas recoil. He sat up, he looked back to Aragorn only to see the the confusion in Aragorn's eyes, "You've heard of what could happen if a male of the woodland realm were to mate with a male descendant of numenor."

Aragorn knew the stories, but he'd yet to witness it. "I have, I also know that it’s so rare it is almost impossible. Besides aren't we always careful?" Aragorn reminded him.

Legolas nodded.

"You worry too much." Aragorn told him, rubbing his back.

Legolas rested back in Aragorn's arms, "You are right." Legolas said then ran his hand across Aragorn's chest, "I love you, Estel."

Legolas finally said it; something he could have easily said the moment he met Aragorn and Aragorn has been waiting just as long to hear it. "I love you too, Greenleaf."

Legolas smiled, "I have something for you." He pulled out a pendant from the pocket of his vest. Aragorn looked down at the beautiful diamond necklace. Legolas fastened it around Aragorn's neck, "Now as long as you have this you will always have my heart." Aragorn kissed him passionately; rolling him on his back, their love making like humming birds through the trees.

*~*~*

Third Age; October 3018

The Council of Elrond was weighing in and Aragorn couldn't keep his eyes off Legolas. What had only been months seemed like years since he'd been even remotely close to his elven lover. Whenever Aragorn would looked over to him he would quickly drop his eyes and when Legolas would look at him he would do the same. How he missed his touch, his kisses, running his fingers though his hair. He missed him.

During the council Aragorn tried to convince Boromir of how treacherous the ring could be. Boromir made the mistake of calling Aragorn a ranger. Legolas frowned and jumped to his defense much to Aragorn's dismay. "Havo dad, Legolas." Aragorn looked to him and held up his hand. Legolas sighed but did as he said. Later that night Aragorn came to the room Legolas was occupying before the fellowship left.

He saw him standing on the balcony. Legolas was wearing a green silk robe and his golden hair as always was gliding down his back. He held onto the bannister and was gazing out at the stars. Aragorn stood in the doorway and just watched him. He couldn’t help taking in how beautiful he was, just as when he first laid eyes on him. He finally allowed himself to approach.

Legolas took a deep breath, he was relieved Aragorn had come to him this night. He been feeling since the council that Aragorn was still angry at him, after all, he had not spoken to him in the days since then. Legolas finally turned around when Aragorn stood directly behind him. "I'm sorry, I know you do not like for your identity to be boasted about, but I just couldn’t stand for him to belittle you,  Aragorn." Legolas said defensively before he looked down and briefly smiled at the pendant Aragorn still wore.

Aragorn pulled Legolas to him and placed his hand over his heart, "I know, I know, it's alright."

“Is it? You have not attempted to see or speak to me in days.” Legolas said not hiding his disappointment.

Aragorn took pause before he spoke, “I know you must be upset with me.”

Legolas shook his head wishing he’d not allowed Aragorn to see his resentment. “I am not, I understand why.”

Aragorn intertwined his fingers with Legolas’s. “Do you, Legolas? Do you understand that when I look at you my heart stops? Do you understand that your voice is like music to my ears? Do you understand that your breath is like the wind? I can’t concentrate when I’m with you, Greenleaf, I would die a thousand deaths to spend an eternity with you. I apologize if I have not done enough to show you that.”

Legolas felt like crying at Aragorn admission. But he knew his heart could not contend with such an act. So instead he acted out what he felt and took his hand from Aragorn and ran his hands up the side of Aragorn’s face. “Forgive me; you have always shown me that, love.” Legolas said apologetically before pulling Aragorn into a passionate kiss. Keeping their lips locked, Legolas pushed Aragorn back until he fell back on the bed. "Lets just have tonight; who knows when we will get another chance to be alone." Legolas reminded him sadly. Aragorn knew that all to well, and he wanted to make this night last. Aragorn pulled apart Legolas's robe, letting it glide off his shoulders to the floor. Aragorn hitched his breath at Legolas’s smooth, pale body like he’d hadn’t seen it a thousand times. Although to Aragorn, it felt like he hadn’t in a thousand years.

Legolas then helped Aragorn take of his own nightwear. They continued kissing for what was like an eternity. For the two of them, eternity was everything and more they needed to express their love. Aragorn trailed his tongue down the elf's neck, his ring getting tangled in his hair. Legolas moaned at the contact, and at the attention that was needed between his legs. Aragorn saw this and picked Legolas up so that he was now on his back on the bed and Aragorn was on his knees between Legolas's thighs. Aragorn brought down his mouth on his elven member, Legolas hitched a breath at the warmness of Aragorn mouth. His tongue trailed up and down his erection. He was so close to releasing his pleasure. Legolas arched his back, gripping Aragorn's hair as he did not knowing how much longer he could hold it. Aragorn went deeper until Legolas's member was touching the back of his throat. Finally he spilled all his love down Aragorn's throat until he was all spent and Aragorn more then willingly took all of it. Legolas took deep breaths as he slowly came down from the feeling only Aragorn could deliver to him. Aragorn now stood up above him, Legolas looked at how hard he’d also gotten. "Make love to me, Aragorn, let me show you the same pleasure you have shown me." Aragron lifted Legolas's legs against his chest, until he could push himself inside him. He grabbed some oil from the table beside the bed, to make it easier on the elf. Aragorn laid his chest against Legolas, Legolas pulled him tight against him as he began pumping inside him. Legolas bit down on his lip, "Tancave, Tancave, Tancave, Aragorn, Le melon." He screamed so loud, Aragorn thought he might wake up all of Rivendell, "Shhhh, Nin Meleth."

Aragron wipped the sweat off his face, Legolas body felt so good. He gave a few more pumps grunting into Legolas's neck before he came hard in him. Laying in place a few moments before he eased himself out so Legolas could close his legs. Legolas rolled to the side as Aragorn scooted in next to him. Aragorn pulled Legolas back against him, he kissed his neck. They cradled each other in the bed drifting off to sleep and that was it, the night was over.

*~*~*

Third Age; February 3019

Aragorn woke in the middle of the night. The last night him and Legolas was together was so beautiful, so magical; magical enough that he was now about to be a father. There had been much to do before the fellowship left Rivendell that he couldn't be with him the way he wanted to. Only a few stolen kisses here and there. He laid his head back down on the feather bed, when suddenly the world around him grew cold and all the could see was a white light in the distance. A little boy with brown curly hair was running through the forest, there was another flash and he saw Legolas's face. He shot up once more, "LEGOLAS!" He screamed. Sweat dipping down his face. He took a deep breath. What am I going to do? Aragorn thought to himself. What do I have to do?

*~*~*

Battle of Helms Deep

Aragorn didn't mean to snap at Legolas, and Legolas was just feeling his own emotions flooding. The baby would be here before either of them knew it, but to ensure that, they had to make it out of here alive. That alone scared Aragorn to death. Legolas watched Aragorn walk away, he started to go after him but Gimli stopped him. Aragorn sat on the stone steps. All he could think about was Legolas and their child; when he should also be thinking about the thousands of lives that could very well be lost tonight.

When Aragorn returned to find Legolas and Gimli getting ready Legolas did not immediately notice him; when he did, he walked over to him. Slowly he handed him his sword. Aragorn gave him a gentle smile he looked down at his bulging belly. "I'm sorry." Legolas said slipping his hand in his. Aragron gave him a reassuring smile, squeezing his hand gently, "No, I did not mean it. You have every right to be upset, you not only have you and I to think of." Aragorn said as he trailed his hand across his lover’s belly that held his unborn child. Aragorn smiled when he felt the baby kick.

"I think it’s boy." Legolas said smiling joyfully.

Aragorn looked back up to meet Legolas's eyes, "I think so too." Aragorn replied recalling his dream. Gimli eyed them curiously and smiled to himself while continuing to put on his armor. Legolas ran his hand to the pendant, "Le Melon, Estel, Ae ú-esteliach nad...estelio han. Estelio ammen." Aragorn pulled him into he passionate kiss just in case it was the last time.

*~*~*

The battle for Helms Deep was over and Aragorn grateful Legolas was still at his side. Aragorn was sitting on the mat in the tent next to Legolas who soft breathing felt like it could make the stars align. He ran the back of his hands down his face, he kissed his forehead and stood up. I need to know what I must do, he thought to himself.

He walked down the halls, he could hear the Palantir calling to him when he spotted it sitting on the stand at the end of the hall. Aragorn got on his knees, he pulled back the cloth covering the palentir. A flash of fire went through his head and there Legolas was, another flash and there was his son, another flash and Aragorn was being crowned king, another flash and him and Legolas were together.

He placed his hands in his face. If this was his future why did it seem so out of reach?

Legolas came up behind him placing his hand on his shoulder, "We all need you and we both need you, Aragorn, don't give in now." Aragorn took his hand slowly turning to look up at Legolas, then he fell into his belly and began kissing it through the fabric of his clothes. "I know." Aragorn said. Legolas wrapped his arms around Aragorn's head, he combed his fingers through his hair. Aragorn tightened his arms around Legolas's waist. "I won't fail you or our son, I promise. I know what I must do." Legolas pulled Aragorn up by the hand. They stared at each other and Legolas walked Aragorn out the hall to complete the fight for their world, to complete the fight for their family.

I'm sure I haven't seen this before so obviously it didn't get around. Would've been a shame though because it's cute. :)
