You look pale and subdued.
I haven’t seen you look like that before, you’ve always shone with life and had a healthy glow. Always had a fire burning in your eyes, which turned its intensity on anything you looked at. I used to get scalded underneath your sight.
But now, I can’t see it.
All I see is a pale hollow gaze, the sparkle’s been taken away…extinguished.
It didn’t even return when I saw you last week, so looking forward to spending time with you. But you were empty, broken, a piece of your soul seemed missing.
Your smiles were jaded, torn. Like the one’s you put on all that time ago…trying to convince me our goodbye was okay with you. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen a true smile since…my God, did I do this to you?
