it's so good too see Viggo getting the acknowledgment for yet another role that he brought to life so well and made his own, though i suspect that privately he couldn't give a toss about the public accolades and oscar hoo-ha.

and it does take some of the sting out of OB getting a Razzie nomination for POTC AWE. i thought he did pretty well with the role that was written for him, which was really just a caricature rather than a character (as were many of the others).

I totally agree with you on Viggo probably no caring much about awards. At least, he's willing to go this time because he doesn't want to disappoint his mum. That's at least something :-)

Yeah, I don't think that Orlando deserved the Razzie nomination either (but I may be a bit biased here), imo he did what could be done with this part. And has there ever been a more gorgeous captain of the Flying Dutchman than Will Turner? No? See what I mean.
