Previous part:A visit to London
The pier was quiet at night. Stars shone bright above them as they made their way towards the end. The Pacific underneath made a soft and comforting sound crashing to the shore. Orlando leaned against the wooden railing and sighed. He was feeling so content. Apparently Viggo was too after he wrapped his arms around Orlando from behind, placing a careful hand on top of the still very flat stomach, because he let out a long happy sigh. “I’ve been thinking...” Orlando started placing his own hand on top of Viggo’s. “Hmmm?”
“I want this baby to have your name.” “My name?” “Yes. Baby Mortensen.” A warm silly smile spread on Orlando’s face at that. Viggo smiled as well. “And I want our baby to have your name as well.” Viggo said speaking against Orlando’s hair. “Where does that leave us?” Orlando whispered.
They both fell into a comfortable silence, thinking of all the possibilities. Viggo turned Orlando in his arms to look at his glowing face. They closed their eyes, pressed their foreheads and noses together and were content to stay that way. “Marry me.” Viggo whispered slowly nuzzling against Orlando. He blindly sought for a ring hidden inside his pocket. Orlando chuckled, warm puffs of air escaping his lips. “Yeah.” he whispered back.
Viggo took Orlando's warm hand in his and blindly pushed the ring to its place. It wasn’t the perfect fit but was good enough. Twining their fingers Viggo backed away a little to look deep into Orlando’s eyes. They were shining happiness and love. Just like his own. There were stars reflecting from their eyes.
A lone shooting star crossed the sky above them but they didn’t see it. They knew there was thousands of things more beautiful, one of them found in each other. Another found in the poetry their hearts sang. In the ways their souls were united.
