"Viggo, Viggo! Come quick!" Orlando's voice rang out in the nearly silent house. Viggo sat bolt upright over the desk he had been writing on. Orlando sounded urgent, his tone almost panicky that made Viggo think he was in trouble.

"Hurry, Viggo!" Orlando called again. Viggo was up off his chair and running out of his studio in seconds. What could have happened to Orlando? Had he fallen somewhere? Had his clumsy lover tripped over some books on the floor and twisted his back?

Viggo skittered to a top at the top of the stairs just as the lights suddenly flickered and went out, plunging him into darkness. It was only early evening, but it was the beginning of winter and it was already dark outside.

"Orlando?" Viggo called, a cold fear gripping his heart. His lover was down those stairs, possibly lying in a jumbled heap of power cords, but Viggo didn't know where. "Where are you, Orli?" He waited until his eyes adjusted to the dark before attempting to hastily walk down the stairs.

"Kitchen," came the slightly softer reply, "Just get here, Vig." Viggo redoubled his movements, skipping down the last two steps and navigating his way as fast as he could through the front room.

"I'm coming, love," Viggo reassured Orlando, his voice shaking slightly, an image of the toaster, a fork, and his lover coming to his mind. He reached the swinging door to the kitchen and pushed it open cautiously.

"Orlando?" Viggo asked, his brow furrowing with worry. Orlando was leaning over the kitchen sink, hands braced on either side of the counter, and his forehead pressed against the window over the sink. "What's wrong?"

"Come over here, Vig," Orlando all but whispered, not seeming to have heard him. Viggo hurried to his side, reaching his hands out to run them over his lover's body. Was he hurt? Was he injured somewhere but didn't want to show him? He skimmed his hands down Orlando's back, arms, over his chest, his thighs, across his cheeks. Orlando laughed softly and turned his head to look at him.

"What are you doing?" he asked, placing a small kiss on Viggo's lips. He made to turn back toward the window, but Viggo caught his face in his hands, forcing him to look at him.

"Are you hurt?" he asked seriously. Orlando's face split into a wide grin and he placed his own hands upon Viggo's cheeks, forcibly turning his head so he was looking out the window. "Look," Orlando whispered. Viggo tried to protest, but Orlando interrupted him. "Look," he insisted.

Viggo looked out the window and saw nothing out of the ordinary. By the soft glow of the moonlight, he could make out the horse stables not too far away and a shovel he had left out earlier that day. He felt Orlando move away from him and wrap himself around him from the back, resting his chin on Viggo's shoulder.

"What am I looking at, Orlando?" The near-panic Viggo had felt moments earlier was slowly dissipating. His lover didn't seem to be in any pain nor could he see any blood or broken glass. Maybe Orlando just had too much to drink while he was in the studio and was hallucinating again?

"Don't you see it, Viggo?" Orlando's breath tickled his ear, "Snow."

At first, Viggo didn't acknowledge his words. Then he shook his head and blinked his eyes rapidly.

"What? Orlando, what are you--"

"Ssh," Orlando cut him off with a kiss to his cheek, "Just watch, Vig. I wanted you to see the first snowflake." Viggo made his eyes focus on what he was supposed to be looking at. He could finally see it. Small snow flurries were fluttering about outside, flitting every which way with the wind. It wasn't quite snowing yet, but it was the start of a snowstorm.

Viggo allowed himself to relax back into Orlando's arms, his warm body a source of comfort to him. All thoughts involving Orlando and a traumatic event were gone. Viggo stood silent, letting the unexplained wave of contentment that he felt every time it snowed wash over him.

After a while, Viggo turned in Orlando's arms, a frown marring his features. Orlando looked taken aback at his expression.

"What's wrong, lover?" he asked timidly.

"You're not injured?" Viggo enquired quietly. Looking perplexed, Orlando shook his head silently. "Not in any immediate danger? Not bleeding profusely from somewhere I can't see?" Orlando shook his head again.

"All you wanted was for me to see the snow?" Viggo held back a grin as a pout began to form on his lover's pretty face as he nodded his assent. Viggo smacked him upside the head lightly.

"Ow! Hey, what was that for? I only wanted you to see the first snowfall," Orlando glowered, bringing a hand up to rub the back of his head, "I know how much you love the snow." Viggo chuckled and kissed his frowning lips.

"That was for making me think you electrified yourself when the power went out." At least Orlando had the decency to blush.

"And this," Viggo continued, wrapping his arms around Orlando's waist and pulling him closer, "Is for being the most considerate and loving lover a man could ever have." Viggo kissed Orlando hard, his tongue sliding immediately into the other man's mouth. Orlando groaned and melted against him, his hands coming up to tangle in his hair. Viggo ground his hips against Orlando's hard body, his pants becoming increasingly tighter at Orlando's moans.

Viggo broke away from Orlando's mouth and stilled his body. Orlando tried to reclaim his lips, but he placed a hand under his chin, making him look at his eyes.

"I love you," Viggo said simply.

"I love you too." Orlando tried to take his mouth again, but Viggo stopped him.

"Now," he chucked as his lover began to pout again and bat his eyelashes, "I want to go upstairs to our bedroom, draw back the shades to our windows, and have you fuck me into oblivion as we watch the first snowfall of the season."

The End.
