Ch 14
Viggo entered his bedroom with a small smile on his face as he saw Orlando standing in front of the mirror. It seemed Orlando had tried on his new clothes and was now looking at himself, completely oblivious to the fact that Viggo was standing there.
“You look nice.” Viggo stated softly, leaning against the door frame.
Orlando jumped slightly and looked into the mirror to see Viggo standing at the entrance of the room. “Thanks.” Orlando stated meekly. “It’s the clothes.”
Viggo walked over to stand right behind Orlando and stared into his eyes through the mirror. “No, it’s you, I’m sure of it.” Viggo said and immediately regretted it when Orlando blushed and looked down at his feet. Viggo hoped he hadn’t scared Orlando. Ever since Sean made him realize his true feelings towards the younger man he had been hard pressed to keep those particular emotions out of his eyes when around Orlando. He didn’t want the young man to feel uncomfortable around him. But he wondered if maybe Orlando could see it in his eyes anyway.
Viggo relaxed a bit when Orlando looked up again and gave him a small smile which he quickly returned.
“Is dinner ready?” Orlando asked hesitantly, not knowing what to say; the awkward silence was making him nervous but the firm presence of Viggo at his back made him feel warm and safe.
“Yeah, Sean is staying; we were thinking about doing a barbeque outdoors, how does that sound?”
“I don’t want to go outdoors!” Orlando’s sudden exclamation took Viggo by surprise.
Viggo looked into the fear filled eyes and put both hands on Orlando’s shoulders, squeezing gently. “Hey, it’s okay.” Viggo soothed. “I meant the backyard; it’s totally secluded; you’ve been back there before.”
“I know.” Orlando replied, turning around to stare fearfully at Viggo. “But that was before…” Orlando broke off and looked to the ground again.
Viggo gently took hold of Orlando’s chin and turned it upwards. “No one is going to get you Orlando. I’ll make sure of it; no one will harm you again.” With those words Viggo pulled Orlando into a tight hug. It took a few minutes before the hug was returned and Viggo felt the body relax against his. “I’ll be right there with you and so will Sean. If it becomes too much, we will come back inside, okay?” Viggo asked while running a soothing hand up and down Orlando’s back.
Orlando took a deep breath and let it out slowly before he gave a nod.
“Great, let’s go.” Viggo stepped back from Orlando and grabbed one of his hands leading him out of the room.
Orlando couldn’t help the shiver that came over his body as he and Viggo stepped out of the back door. He didn’t know if it was from the cool breeze or his fear. He stepped closer to Viggo as Sean came over to them.
“So how is our dinner coming along?” Viggo asked.
“I’m cooking, how can it be anything but wonderful? You’ll see, Orlando, I’m the best cook.” Sean stated with a big smile on his face.
“Don’t believe him, Orlando, his cooking is terrible…I should have cooked.” Viggo said with a smirk. “For all we know, our dinner is burnt.”
Orlando gave a little smile but didn’t say anything.
“I’m hurt Viggo, really, I can cook, it’s just a grill.” Sean laughed as he made his way back to the grill to collect the meat.
Viggo laughed also as he took a seat on the bench at the table and wasn’t very surprised when he felt Orlando immediately sit down next to him. He glanced sideways at Orlando and saw the young man looking around at the trees and sides of the house.
“You okay?” Viggo asked silently putting his arm around Orlando’s shoulder in a reassuring gesture.
“Yeah.” Orlando said as his gaze snapped back to Viggo. “I…I’m fine.”
Sean came over with the meat and other various foods. “Dinner is served.”
Orlando looked at the food that was not burnt and actually smelled really delicious. He looked up as Sean sat down across from him. “It smells good.” Orlando said hesitantly. He wasn’t scared of Sean anymore; he did trust the older man, but he was still a little uncomfortable being around someone other than Viggo.
Sean laughed. “What? You really think I would burn our dinner…never; I’m too hungry.”
And Sean proceeded to stuff some chicken into his mouth.
Orlando reached out for some meat the same time Viggo did and their hands collided which caused Viggo to knock his water over.
Orlando quickly pulled his hand back and wrapped his arms around himself. “I’m sorry.” he said tearfully staring fearfully at the two men. All he seemed to see though was Mark and Alex as memories washed over him…
~Flashback~
The banging of a door opening awoke Orlando from the light sleep he was in. He reflexively curled into a ball as Mark walked in followed by Alex. “Hello my darling.” Mark sneered. “Tork said you were starting to smell a little rotten last night, so I’m thinking its bath time for you.”
Orlando shivered, he was cold and the last thing he wanted was to have cold water poured onto him. But usually Mark just dropped the bucket and made him do it or just poured it straight on him, never had he brought one of the other guys in here with him.
Mark caught the questioning look in Orlando’s eyes and explained, “Well…I thought we might have a little fun in here while we get you smelling nice again.” Both men chuckled as Orlando swallowed the sudden lump in his throat.
Alex disappeared out the door only to return a second later carrying a large tin tub filled with water. To Orlando it looked like something one would wash a small dog or cat in. It was about four feet in diameter and three feet deep.
“Let’s get started.” Alex said with a smile.
Mark grabbed Orlando by the hair and the arm to drag him off the dirty mattress to kneel on the cement floor by the tub. “Get on all fours.” Mark ordered as he pushed Orlando’s head down so it was hanging over the tub.
Orlando did as he was told; hoping his shaking arms wouldn’t give out on him. He tensed up more as he felt Alex move behind him and grab hold of his hips, rubbing his thumbs over the globes of his butt. He felt something hard rest against his entrance and knew Alex had taken his pants off. He stiffened as he realized what was coming. But Alex didn’t do anything, he just continued to squeeze and rub Orlando’s butt cheeks.
Ice cold water being poured over his head suddenly shifted Orlando’s attention away from Alex and onto Mark. Mark had taken a small glass and was scooping up the water to pour over Orlando.
Orlando was shivering violently in less than a minute. Mark had now taken a bar of soap and was viciously scrubbing at Orlando’s head. Orlando wasn’t prepared when Mark suddenly shoved his face down into the tub of cold water or when Alex chose that precise moment to thrust into him in one hard shove. The double assault caused Orlando to inhale water. He tried to bring his head back up to get air but Mark held his head down as he washed the soap from Orlando’s head.
Orlando tried to hold his breath but the brutal thrusting of Alex drove out what little air he had. His lungs were on fire and he started to struggle as panic set in. In a few seconds Mark yanked Orlando’s head up by his hair and Orlando coughed out the water he had choked on.
“Stop moving or I’ll make it ten times worse for you.” Mark said.
“Please…” Orlando gasped still trying to find his breath.
But Mark was having none of it and shoved his head back down into the water.
Orlando’s arms finally gave out and he was jarred further down as Alex gave a few more thrusts and came inside him. Alex let Orlando go and Mark pulled Orlando’s head up again.
Orlando coughed and gagged as he took deep breaths. “S…s…top. No…o more.”
Orlando shivered as tears mingled with the water running down his face.
“Oh, can’t take it slut?” Alex asked with a smirk. “We are just getting started.”
Orlando pushed himself away from Mark’s grip but his arms wouldn’t support him and he slammed into the side of the tub and tipped it over. The cold water rushed past him and all over the floor.
“Fuck!” Mark yelled as he stood up to avoid the water getting on his shoes. “You little fucker!” He stomped over to Orlando and kicked him hard in the stomach. Orlando cried out and tried to curl up to protect himself from the other blows that were currently raining down on him. Once Orlando was bloody enough for Mark’s liking he yanked Orlando up and over to where the floor was the wettest.
“Look what you did! Do you see that?” Mark growled, “Do you?” he shouted.
Orlando was too cold and in too much pain to answer.
“Well that’s all the water you’re going to see for a few days so if you get thirsty you had better lick it up!” With that he shoved Orlando’s head to the floor and stepped over him to where Alex was standing by the door. “We’ll try bath time again in a few days.”
Once they left Orlando dragged his bruised and bloodied body back across the wet floor to the mattress where he curled up and cried himself to sleep.
~End Flashback~
Sean looked at Viggo, alarmed by Orlando’s suddenly fear filled eyes. He grabbed some napkins and soaked up the spilt water.
Viggo shrugged at Sean before he focused on Orlando. “Hey it’s fine.” He reached out and took hold of Orlando’s shoulders and shook them gently until Orlando’s eyes focused back on him. “Orlando?” He saw some of the fear drain out of the brown eyes to be replaced with sadness and embarrassment. “It’s fine, it’s just water, and we have plenty more.”
Orlando waited till his heart quit beating against his chest till he nodded his head and said. “Sorry.”
“No need to apologize lad. But I do think you need to try some of this wonderful meat.”
Sean said, passing the plate to Orlando with a smile.
Orlando smiled back, glad that both men weren’t going to ask questions about his spacing out. “Thanks.” He put some meat on his plate and passed it to Viggo. He took a bite out of his chicken and was comforted by the spicy warmth in his mouth.
“Wow, this is good Sean, I’m surprised.” Viggo said with humor in his voice.
“Why?”
“Well because your last experimentation with the grill didn’t go so well.”
“Viggo!”
Orlando looked at Sean who was scowling and then at Viggo who was smiling. Viggo turned toward him and said, “The last time my dear friend here tried to cook, it turned out as a disaster. But it was really funny.”
“I don’t think Orlando wants to hear about this Viggo.” Sean stated with a glare.
Viggo laughed “Oh, I think he does.” Viggo turned in Orlando’s direction again and explained, “See I had a party over here about a year ago and there was this woman here that Sean was really attracted to. Well he wanted to impress her by making his famous chicken on the grill, so me being the wonderful friend I am gave up the cooking and turned it over to him. That was a mistake. See I had already put some lighter fluid in but Sean didn’t know that, so he added more to it.” Viggo stopped as Sean grumbled something along the lines of ‘It wasn’t my fault’ before he continued, “Well right after he lit it he turned his back to it to look at this woman and found everyone was looking his way and the women shouts ‘Umm…I think your meat is on fire’. And in Sean’s haste to turn back around he tripped over a box and landed butt first right on the grill.” Viggo laughed at this point. “Let’s just say dinner was charred and Sean had a burnt ass for about a week after!”
Sean shook his head and glared at Viggo, but was secretly happy when he saw
Orlando’s huge smile and laughing eyes.
“So did you ever see the girl again?” Orlando asked as he gave a chuckle.
“Nope, I was to bloody embarrassed to speak to her after that.” Sean said around a mouthful of food.
Dinner was uneventful after that, just filled with small talk done mostly by Viggo and Sean. Orlando had started to get fidgety as the sky started to darken. It was to hard to see in the dark, he couldn’t be sure that someone wasn’t out there watching him and waiting for him to be left alone. Orlando trembled at the thought.
Viggo felt Orlando tremble against his side and said, “Are you getting cold? Do you want me to get your jacket?”
Orlando shook his head and grabbed Viggo’s hand; he didn’t want Viggo to leave him, especially not outside. “I’m just tired.” he lied.
Sean looked up into the sky and said, “It’s getting late, I should head home.”
Viggo nodded and all three men stood up and made their way back into the house where they said their goodbyes and Sean left.
“Well…bed time?” Viggo asked as he took in the tired posture of Orlando.
Orlando nodded and followed Viggo up the stairs.
Both men changed into pajamas and got under the covers. Orlando immediately turned on his side and snuggled his body against Viggo’s chest and Viggo; pulling Orlando more securely against him and putting an arm around his waist, rested his hand in Orlando’s against the young man’s torso. This was the familiar position both men had become accustomed to sleeping in through the last few weeks. Since the news report Orlando hadn’t been able to sleep through the night unless he was held by Viggo.
“Orlando?” Viggo asked as he settled his head against Orlando’s silky curls.
“Hmmm?” Orlando replied sleepily.
“What happened earlier today, when you spilt the water?”
Silence.
“Please tell me.” Viggo begged quietly.
Orlando took a deep breath and said, “A memory.”
Viggo nodded. “I thought so, want to talk about it?”
“No.”
“It might make you feel better.”
“No. I…I can’t. Not yet.”
“Someday?”
“I…don’t…” Orlando sighed, “Yeah, maybe someday.”
Silence took over as both men succumbed to sleep, one man tightening his grip on the man he so desperately wanted to protect and the other man feeling safe and warm in the arms of the man he so desperately wanted to be loved by.
