It lingers in the air.
The unsung melody, along with the words you never spoke, spreading its sorrowful tunes around the darkening room. It makes the tears flow again, although it’s comfortable in some way. It soon turns into a buzz, your unspoken words filling the blanks in the music. And despite its comfortableness I suddenly want it to stop, stop…
Makes me think of all the memories that were never made, for you never gave us the chance to create the melody although it was right there, waiting, ready to be discovered. It would have even sprung out on its own if only you’d said the words. Now it’s too late.
Please stop…
Quiet.
This is not good.
It’s too loud, the silence. Too raw, makes me ache... And I can’t escape it, it follows me everywhere, filtering all the other sounds.
It hurts.
I want my melody back.
And you to sing it for me.
