Author's notes: Hmm... As you probably have already noticed every chapter has its own rating and warnings...

I'm really sorry it's taken me this long to update this but I fell ill. I ran a terribly high fever and I lost all my energies to do anything about this. I couldn't even open my computer so that I could have done something but no. Now, I apologise and present you the fourt chapter...

“So now that man has been in the cage for two years.” Mahathir continued. “How could Orlando still be alive? I mean when treated like that people most likely try a suicide or they stop eating and drinking.” Viggo’s blood was boiling. He had seen many cases resembling this but never anything as brutal as Orlando’s. “He’s hanging in there because I’ve kept his hopes up. I’ve brought him food and water – at night when no one’s around to care about him. I know he has a “job” in keeping company to the wealthy businessmen whenever they come here. That has been the only thing I could come up with. I’ve been his only friend through these years.” “But how have you managed to keep it a secret? You are so young, people can manipulate others easily.” “I am 15 years old, I was found by that lady in the hotel ten years ago wandering these woods. The first five years of my life I was malnourished and it affected my growth. I am smaller than my peers and people always think I’m years younger. Anyway who would believe a boy like me would have wits to help someone like Orlando? No one. But now…” Mahathir put his teacup down to the table.
“I have told you everything I know about him and how he got in that cage.” “Are you saying he’s been like a geisha? Only a little bit more than that? Under Cody’s rigorous supervision?” “Yes. Now, I have to go. Thank you for the tea. And if you ever need anything to ask me, a favour or something, let me know.” “I sure will. Oh, Mahathir, here.” Once again Viggo took money from his wallet and handed them to the boy. “Thank you, sir.” “Just call me Viggo, okay?” Viggo said with a smile. “Viggo. Yes. Okay.” “And don’t say a word about this.” “Okay…” With that Mahathir left leaving Viggo to the recliner a teacup in his hand.

It has been a while since Viggo has had a brainstorm like this. In his head a rescue plan was forming. First he’d have to talk with Mahathir, ask him if he helped. Then he’d figure out how he’d get Orlando out of that cage without frightening him too much. After getting him out he’d have to somehow get Orlando out of the island. Alive.

Okay. He’d ask Mahathir the next day if he were up to helping him with this. He hoped to God the lock keeping that cage closed would be rusty because of the hot but humid climate. He could bend it open by a wooden stick. He could use that broom he has on the terrace! But how would he get Orlando away from the island without anyone noticing? Hmmm. Of course! Through the jungle and straight to the sea he saw through his living room windows! That beach waiting for them there was on the opposite side of the island and far away from the town. He’d call his friend who lives in Kuala Lumpur. He was, just like Viggo, a detective. He could do a small favour and send a boat for them both. Walking to the back porch Viggo decided to reform his plans and make them “waterproof”.

Viggo had washed the dishes, put some decent clothes on and left out to buy something to eat. He had carried his suitcase in and now he walked on the same sandy path like yesterday. From afar he could see the cage and now it was empty. Where was this…Orlando? Had he escaped somehow? Had Mahathir helped him? Had something happened to him? He sure as hell would find that out!

The market place was filled with people. Most of them were tourists, it was clear. Viggo could hear it in their accents. Seeing the small desks with vegetables and fruits, meat and cheese, Viggo’s stomach churned. He could cook wonderful meals. Maybe he’d eat chicken today. So he’d need peppers, yellow, green and red peppers. Then some chicken. Slowly he made his way forward. After finding the perfect ingredients he bought them.

On his way back to the bungalow he met Mahathir. “Hello, there.” “Oh, hello, Viggo.” “Where are you coming from?” “I was bringing a message to you but you weren’t there. But…Here.” Mahathir hands a letter to Viggo. They stood in silence as Viggo opened the envelope.

Dear Mr. Mortensen,

I am so pleased to get you here as a guest. I hope the bungalow reserved for you has been good. I am hosting a barbeque party tonight at the beach. You are most welcome. The party itself starts at 9:00 and there will be lots of good food and drinks and something special. Have a nice stay,

Brian Burrell

“What the heck is that “something special”?” Viggo asked aloud. “Before you say anything, do you know where Orlando is? He isn’t in that cage.” Mahathir stepped a little closer. “They take him out every single day…” “Who?” “I don’t know them. They are like Mr. Burrell’s bodyguards or something.” “Where do they take him?” “I don’t know. Somewhere. Out of sight. Orlando is not something they want to show to people in daylight.” “So, he’s okay…” “I wouldn’t be that sure about it.” “So, he’ll be at the party too. But what does he do there?” “For what I know he is in the room where the rich businessmen go. I don’t even dare guessing what happens behind the closed door.”
Viggo didn’t need much guessing. He had been working on a case like this before. That experience was bad. Viggo was able to free her but in the end she killed herself. The humiliation and everything consumed her.

“I can’t stand him being tortured like that.” “You trying to save him tonight?” “I don’t know, Mahathir. I’ll try.” “Okay. I’m with you on this if you need me.” “Thank you, that’s very kind.” “Maybe someday someone would come here for me too.”
