Summary: From the near past to the near future, it’s a love story- yes, as trivial as that- between Viggo- a renowned artist falling from grace- and Orlando -an artist imposingly ascending to stardom.

Title: Refuge, 3/16
Author: [livejournal.com profile] carynita. Complete story done for NaNoWriMo 2006 and is not a WIP.
Rating: Smutty
Warnings: AU, occasional light kink. Complete and total poetic license with the time-space continuum, geography, agencies, and political reality.
Disclaimer: This is total fiction, influenced by Helen Fielding, Elizabethtown, Syriana, LOST, Jane Eyre, my coworkers, my own experience, google, and my imagination.
Feedback: Is a wonderful thing I promise to start giving more of.

Summary: Orlando directs a refugee camp in West Africa after a failed career in PR. Viggo is a doctor sent to the camp by Médecins Sans Frontières. Viggo has a bit of an ego. Orlando is sexually frustrated. Add in some political intrigue, blatantly left-wing politics, people dying from starvation, a staff with serious baggage, a couple goats, a few hundred bags of millet, and some mosquito nets and you get a glimpse into life on the edge of the Sahara.
