Squeak Thank you for everything. You were the one helping Waking Nightmare out of the cupboard and finally brought me back to my passion: writing. Thank you for your encouragement. You make me go on, honestly *hug* I wouldn’t know what to do without you.

Rating: Smutty
Thanks: To [livejournal.com profile] ames1010 for the superfast read-through and [livejournal.com profile] jenlynn820 for the banner!
Warnings: AU, occasional light kink. Complete and total poetic license with the time-space continuum, geography, agencies, and political reality.
Disclaimer: This is total fiction, influenced by Helen Fielding, Syriana, LOST, Jane Eyre, my coworkers, my own experience, google, and my imagination.

Summary: Orlando directs a refugee camp in West Africa after a failed career in PR. Viggo is a doctor sent to the camp by Médecins Sans Frontières. Viggo has a bit of an ego. Orlando is sexually frustrated. Add in some political intrigue, blatantly left-wing politics, people dying from starvation, a staff with serious baggage, a couple goats, a few hundred bags of millet, and some mosquito nets and you get a glimpse into life on the edge of the Sahara.

Prologue and Chapter 1.
