THE RING

”To wherever it may lead” it said inside the ring. The ring that had had been the most important one in his life until yesterday.

Of course he’d dreamed of wherever leading to the life of a much-admired actor. The life of a serious performer, understood and appreciated by friends and colleagues as well as by a public whose support would be shown by their never failing presence at his films.

Of course he’d dreamed of wherever leading to love. To meeting many and diverse people, and among them finding the one who would complete him, body and soul. He could never have known that the one he was looking for was already by his side and would never leave his side.

”To wherever it may lead” it said inside the ring. But if he’d thought for a lifetime, Orlando could never have foreseen that wherever would lead to this place. That having seen Viggo place the other ring on his finger yesterday, he would be here among the soft clouds of pillows in their honeymoon retreat, smiling softly as his lover – nay, husband – drew back the curtains on a perfect sunny morning.
