Disclaimer: I love them. I love the real them. I love the made up them that I created for this story.

“Hey,” Viggo said, nervously pulling at the collar of his cream-colored dress shirt. “Come on in.”

“You okay?” Elijah asked, smiling. Viggo wore an olive green suit, and the shirt was unbuttoned enough to make it casually dressy.

“Yes. I mean, no. I mean, I wish Orli was here. If he was with me, I’d…” Viggo stopped talking as he took a good look at Elijah. “Good God, Elijah. You look great.”

“I do clean up well.” Elijah looked at the mirror on the hallway wall and adjusted the lapels of his blue suit. “I’m damn fine.”

Viggo laughed, his nervousness diminishing slightly. “Do I want to know where you got that?”

“No,” Elijah said, winking comically. Viggo laughed again. “Orlando said to give you his love.”
Elijah gave Viggo a polite kiss on the cheek. “In a G-rated sorta way.”

“Thank you,” Viggo said, getting nervous all over again.

“I’m sorry I’m not him,” Elijah said seriously. “But Dominic wanted him at the gallery early. Something about meeting with the caterers.”

“I’m just glad Dom and Orli hit it off so well,” Viggo said. Orlando had started working for Dominic at the beginning of the week, and everything had seemed to flow perfectly. Orlando let Dominic’s ranting and raving wash right off his back, and Dominic welcomed the idea of letting someone else do the lowly work he hated. Orlando had even gotten along with Billy Boyd the one time he had met him. “I want it to all work out.”

“It will,” Elijah said. He adjusted Viggo’s collar and patted him on the shoulders. “Ready?”

“Vig.” Viggo felt a hand on his shoulder. He excused himself from the patrons he had been speaking with and turned around.

“Orli.” Viggo smiled broadly and gave Orlando what looked like a friendly hug. No one saw him kiss Orlando’s neck. “You look gorgeous.”

“Thank you,” Orlando said, blushing slightly. He wore a classic black suit with a white shirt. “Elijah knows something about clothing. He used to…” Orlando shook his head. “Never mind.”

“Have you looked around yet?” Viggo said, ignoring the urge to hold Orlando’s hand.

“No. I was hoping for a personal tour from the artist,” Orlando said. “I did, however, catch a few glimpses of my own face. That’s weird.”

“You’re the perfect inspiration,” Viggo said quietly, his tone full of love. Orlando blushed even harder.

“You’re daft.”

Viggo led Orlando along, explaining about the works that didn’t have Orlando in them. “The stuff with you is best, though,” Viggo said modestly. “You’re what gave me the kick in the butt that I needed.”

“Hardly,” Orlando snorted.

They moved along, Viggo stopping and talking to the different patrons who approached him. Orlando kept a careful eye on Elijah, who was standing in a corner. A man stopped to talk to Elijah. Orlando frowned and tugged at Viggo’s elbow.

“Hmm?” Viggo turned away from the man he was talking to.

“What’s Boyd doing talking to ‘Lij?”

“I don’t know, Orlando,” Viggo said under his breath. “Maybe he thinks Elijah is cute.”

Orlando watched as Elijah seemed to giggle, his smile bashful. “Maybe,” Orlando said protectively. He watched Billy take Elijah by the elbow and gently lead him to another room. “What’s in there?”

“Oh,” Viggo said, laughing a bit. “That’s where my best stuff is. The stuff I think is special. There’s actually something I want you to see in there…my favorite painting.”

“If you…” Orlando began, but stopped as Elijah came running out of the room. “Elijah?”

“Orli,” Elijah began, then stopped. He ignored Viggo. “You have to see this.”

“Is it that bad?” Viggo joked, but Elijah was leading Orlando into the other room. Viggo followed them.

Showcased on the wall was a large painting of Elijah and Orlando, snuggled in bed the night they had come to Viggo’s apartment. Orlando was protectively wrapped around Elijah, who looked young and innocent. “Viggo,” Orlando whispered.

“It’s my favorite,” Viggo whispered, putting a hand on Orlando’s shoulder. “You’re both so beautiful.”

Orlando shrugged Viggo’s hand off. “How could you do this, Vig? How could you?” Orlando gave him a withering glance as Elijah ran out of the gallery. “Goodbye.” He rushed out after his friend.
