Here I am again and I will start with something I forgot to include last time. I had it in mind, but eventually forgot about it. Because I had to make gifs for it. Anyway, I will mention it here. Out of topic, but I want to thank each and every one who commented on my previous entry so lovingly and whoever will comment on it and this one too in advance. I really appreciate it and encourages me to go on. :) Also, I apologise in advance for any typos you will see. I will try to be more careful this time. So, let's start, shall we? :)

In the Appendices of The Battle of the Five Armies (The Appendices part 11 - The Gathering) there is a part where Orlando buys beers and burgers for the cast and crew as a thank you and Orlando comments on it with...

This is just... so sweet, really. From the very fact that Orlando did that thinking of Viggo and wanting to be/behave like him (he has said he wants to be Viggo, after all.), as in to make Viggo proud of Orlando and Orlando himself feel proud of Viggo for being so kind to the fact that he is freaking fidgeting while talking about him, still. After all these years. You can actually hear him fidgeting, moving his fingers so quickly. And how he lowers his gaze... This is just an example of how much Viggo influences Orlando. :)

Moving on, I would like to show you some interesting things Orlando has said during his early years, 2001-2003 in interviews. I decided to do a research on it some time ago and this is what I came up with. I found all of this on http://www.theorlandobloomfiles.com/words.html under the "Articles" category. A VERY useful site overall.

JS: How did you feel about sporting Legolas's mane of blonde hair?
OB: Those wigs were incredible. They're made of real hair, and they're worth, like, 15 grand. I tore the wig of Viggo [Mortensen, who plays the human warrior Aragorn] one time, in a scuffle. That really stressed out his make-up artist.
Homme Arena Magazine, Winter 2001

In a scuffle... yeah, right. More like a quickie on set... And how did he go from how much the wigs cost to tearing Viggo's in an instant? Wow, Orlando... This is a very good feed for imagination by the way... Is it because I am perverted that I think of that thing? I don't think so... Or maybe. But does that mean he is a wild one? ;) Okay, I stop. Not my fault guys.

HB: You're amazingly composed as an interviewee, given your brief exposure to this level of media interest in you. Is this a talent that you've had to hone?
OB: Possibly, but I do think honesty is the best policy. Obviously I've done a lot of interviews recently talking about The Lord Of The Rings. I worked on it for 18 months and know that there's a lot to talk about. I know how I feel about that. I think there's also an element of having grown up feeling reasonably self-assured. I think that I've had an interesting life and I feel very grateful. If I died tomorrow, I'd feel like I've lived a very full life. I've loved every moment and, through that, I've learned a lot about people and relationships. I try to apply a set of rules to life to make it easier and that normally means just being open and honest so you can enjoy it.
Harper's Bazaar, January 2002

He would feel like he lived a completed life if he died tomorrow in... 24 years old? Does that mean he got to live all of life's gifts, including love, true love, on their ultimate form? Interesting.

How was your time in New Zealand?
It was 18 months and the best time of my life. Working on a project like this and a character like this was a real challenge. I had to immerse myself and it's kind of surreal sitting around the lunch table in New Zealand with Orcs and monsters with huge prosthetics. They're already big guys! I certainly got lost in that world.

How uncomfortable were the ears?
Surprisingly not uncomfortable at all, other than the 2 hours that it took to put them on. The only thing that got to be a bit of a drag, because it weighed so much, was my quiver and my bow strapped on my back. I went home one day without the wig, but with the ears on, because I had a 4-hour break and it was the middle of the night... I crawled into bed with my girlfriend at the time and woke up with one of my ears stuck to the pillow and the other there in perfect form, with my girlfriend taking photos and laughing. I'd love to have gone out with them on, but we had to maintain a lot of secrecy so it's not like you could go into a bar or anything! I would have to wear a hooded jacket in the car on the way to set and home every day too if I still had the ears on as security was really tight.
Dreamwatch (US), March 2002

Best time of his life indeed. And now about the girlfriend part. He mentions that girlfriend he met in NZ but "broke up because of the distance" in other interviews I will not post, but he has mentioned her. But this "girlfriend" took photos and laughed her ass off when that incident happened? I am sorry, but I can totally picture Viggo doing exactly that in that situation. Plus, the camera and photos themselves are very interesting. Also, why did he keep wearing the ears in home AND in bed? Maybe because his "girlfriend" had an elvish ear fetish just like Viggo? Just wondering... These two can be too obvious sometimes, you know what I mean? Yes, you do.

Do you think it’s opened doors that you wouldn’t have normally had access to?

Orlando: “Certainly. I’ve been given a chance to work on films where I haven’t been jaded. I’ve worked on really amazing projects, but I’ve also been given a chance to grow with them and into them. I’ve learned from such amazing people.
“I just worked with Johnny Depp and Heath Ledger and Viggo and Brad Pitt. I’ve pretty much covered the leading man demographic [everyone laughs]!”

Was it difficult to have to spend so much time with the project?

Orlando: “The positives outweigh any negatives. I sort of feel as though I grew up in New Zealand. I feel like I came here at an age where I could now really find myself.”
-RotK Press Interview in NZ, 30/11/2003

I find it amusing how he addresses EVERYONE with their full name except of Viggo. :D The positives outweigh any negatives. So beautiful. And it seems like he found his true self in NZ. Character and sexually speaking, I guess?

Next is the lovely comments Orlando has made about Viggo in the Cast Audio Commentary of the three LOTR films which you can find here. Yeah, I am that obsessed that I cut and joined the comments in one sweet mp3 file. But I also wrote them down, because reading them gives a great feeling. I apologise for everything I did not catch. Those are things that are not about VO anyway. :) Also, note that Orlando babbles so much (the mp3 is 7+ minutes long) and I am sorry about that too. Actually I am not, because it is about Viggo. :) Please ignore my comments if you find them annoying/distracting.

I have listed them chronologically.

1. FotR Cast Commentary CD1

"I think this is possibly one of the coolest
entrances to a movie EVAH."

2. FotR CC CD1

"Viggo... he's like a hero of mine. Such a generous actor, such a fantastic guy to work with.
You know, he's so brilliant... Um... his attention to detail, his... his focus on his um... work ethic, you know the way he kind of... 'cause everything he's got into his role and... he was great 'cause this was my first experience on a film and... he was just um... he was a fantastic guy, do you know?" (Yes, Orlando, we do know.)

3. FotR CC CD1

"You know that was Viggo's first day on set. That sequence out there. That was his first day on set and it was just like, he got off a plane in like I think within two days he was like, to get in and start doing... doing this fight sequence stuff for those... defending the hobbits up there. Just... great."

Continuing... (no it's NOT over yet!)

"He taught me so much, just in being around him and seeing him work and how to... you know, it's like it's-it's your job as an actor to... to know exactly... You know, we would shoot a scene for the movie and at the end of that scene say Viggo would end up with his hand on his sword like looking out at the distance. At the end of that shot that would be his last stance. A week later we might have shot the following sequence. At the beginning of that sequence Viggo would be standing there with his hand on his sword. You know, he'd be like "So, hang on a minute where was (were) we -where were we- lost? Okay we were there, okay this is what I was doing." You know, I mean, so what that allows Pete to be able to do is to use all of that moment where, you know, 'cause for some actors maybe they'd come out the next scene that they'd shoot they'd just have the hand there, you know what I mean? (NO ORLANDO I DON'T JUST STAHP!) with the sword out but he'd allow Pete to be able to choose every moment. It was just, ah, brilliant." (IT'S OVER!!!)

4. TTT CC CD1

"You know Aragorn's, you know, he's in the leading. He's the-he's the tracker, but Legolas isn't supposed to feel tired, he doesn't get tired. Elves don't feel cold, they don't get tired, so, it's supposed to look very easy for me, but Viggo (I ADORE the way he says his name) was so fit and healthy and stuff. I mean, he's like -I'm twenty years younger, he's genius- oh no ten years (you lost it Orli~) or whatever, but like, I'm supposed to be the young adult (?) and then he would sprint to go far and I was like branching (?) to try and keep up with him and we were like in that sort of little race thing, you know. He was like "Man, that's not a race." and I was like "I know, I know.", but it was sort of, you know what I mean? It was like this... And then-and then I had to keep turning around 'cause Brett was keeping at the rear, you know, it's... but and he was doing a great job with all that armour on him. It was just ridiculous, but we had so much fun doing that stuff. It was hilarious. It was this little competition. Running race."

5. TTT CC CD2

"Viggo was a really kind of... he was a role model for me. Because, you know, I was kind of living in at that time and kind of getting through it and... stuff, but... he was such a gracious... soul, and he IS such a gracious soul, but... you know, he put up with me as a... as sort of a young-young actor kind of... you know, having-having moments or whatever and he kind of really put me through it in many times. You know, he was a friend, but he was um... he was like a mentor. Yeah..."

6. RotK CC CD1

"I remember looking out over these plains and... Aragorn comes up to me and I remember just looking out there and it was so~ vast and made me feel so small, scanning the horizon and... he kind of really let this off. It was amazing."

7. RotK CC CD1

"I mean I actually had a line there and I'm so gut that it isn't there, because it's ONLY for this purpose, this reason only, because my make up artist, my second make up artist, gave me this ring which was inscribed with "To wherever it may lead." which was at that point in the third movie. That was what Legolas says. "I do not fear death. To wherever it may lead." You know, Viggo says-Aragorn says-he says "I do not fear death." and goes in. Legolas was supposed to say "To wherever it may lead." (Dramatic tone here) or something, you know and going rrrr and then Gimli goes in you know "Well if a dwarf can-can't go into underground where an elf can then what sort of a dwarf am I?" (You gotta love Gimli) I was really gut when I aw the third movie and the line wasn't there just 'cause that was the ONE line with the ring on it and I was like-and I've been telling everyone "Yeah, it's a line on the third movie~"

Poor, poor Orlando. :(

8. RotK CC CD1

"He was incredible! Viggo. (I adore how he says his name here too) Because I mean he was ENDLESS. (define this, please) You know, I mean Legolas is sort of standing back there looking hick (?) with the bow, you know what I mean? Making it happen (LOLOL), but Viggo was like dialogue and carrying this moment, carrying so much-so many of these moments. You know, I was always there, with him, John was-was there as well (something about John's double, Brett which does not interest us and I do not catch), but it was hard work at that point.
You know, he was getting thrown sort of chunks of dialogue in the morning yet would be doing that this afternoon (or something) You know, I mean this is really, this is big stuff for an actor, what he's doing out there. That's really intimidating sort of you gotta bring that sort of acting and when you get the dialogue the day of the morning before cam be really intimidating, but that was- it was like "Okay, let's go to it, go get it, do it. If you don't, well, you don't. What we can get is what we can get." And it was- it was all-there were so fantastic these moments in film. Everyone just wanted to get him. We were all just really wanted to make it happen."

9. RotK CC CD1

"At that point, in the movie, we'd done so much there'd been so many others sort of trippy things going on and so much other crazy stuff and so much fantastic stuff with scenery and everything else that-I mean if Pete had told me that Legolas was going to jump running
around naked at that point, I probably would have stripped off and start skipping a jingo, do you know what I mean? (Are you high Orli?) It was like, we were all such sort of Jackson followers that he could have said anything and you'd go "Yeah, sure." "So... at this point
Aragorn... grabs Legolas and... tongues him." and you'd had gone "Ah, alright. Yeah, that makes sense."

Orlando is the one who is perverted. And me. :) Aragorn tongues Legolas, out of them all, he thought of Aragorn. Makes sense. Totally. Aragorn is played by Viggo after all.

10. RotK CC CD2

"I love that speech that Viggo did. I remember standing there watching him do that. Actually all of the army I was looking around there were all like... tingling, you know? (Oh?) It's like one of those sort of... arousing the troops speeches (I don't know about the troops,
but I bet you got aroused...) and he... and he really nailed it, I thought. It was real education, watching him do that... and he was very, you know, he was very at one with that horse by the time he was doing that so it was cool. There is one point in one take, I don't
know if it's this one, where he rides... (Damn the way he says the word is hot) and then he stopped and the horse did a rear-there it is! Yeah... that rear... (oh the memories) It was just so cool (and hot) because he was-in that moment-'cause he'd done it so many times and
the horse did this little rear and it was perfect timing. I mean, it just happened in the moment it wasn't choreographed and the horse wasn't trained to do it. It was something that occured and I guess it was the adrenaline of... of Viggo... on the horse and... you know
'cause horses really respond to you, when you're on them, so... that was a cool moment."

No, seriously, doesn't he sound horny throughtout all of this? I mean, his voice is so low and thick and stuff. And I bet he knows much about how horses respond when you are on them. ;)

11. RotK CC CD2

"I was really blessed... to have found myself in New Zealand amongst a creative team under the direction amd guidance of a genius... like Peter Jackson (And Viggo. I'm sure he wanted to say Viggo too.) and in the company of... some of the most beautiful human beings
that I think I'll ever meet (ie Viggo) and working on material like J.R.R. Tolkien's LotR which was adapted to the screen. I'm not sure when I'm gonna really believe I did it. I'm always like... I don't know when it's ever gonna really feel real, to me. It was a magical
time. It's made me a different person. Certainly a different actor, than I would have been otherwise and everything after that, having worked on that, I thought "That's the bar and I've got to keep a walk up there." This was an experience of a lifetime and I just want
everything to be as good and I've got to do anything in my power to try and create something that can have the same... you know everything else has got to try and live up to that."

All this is a very good example of the fact that Orlando has only talked like this, so lovely, so in love
when he talks about Viggo. He has never talked about anyone else like this. This pretty much says it all, if you ask me. :)

And this is it. For now, at least. Again, I will post more of them later, probably in a few days. Pictures or quotes that I have yet to show you or some of Orlando's gayness that I love (and is much) or an entire post dedicated to VO in LOTR (that will come anyway, I just don't know when) and whatever comes to my mind in general. Have a good day. :)
