A/N 2: I wanted to write this because
galor5 wrote THIS for me in the mentioned community.
Their relationship had been on a hiatus for months now. There had been no loving activity. They were busy, engaged in their own projects so deeply they didn't have time to think of the other. They also were hurting. This wasn't the first time they had decided to separate to re-evaluate what was the essence of their lives. They knew it wasn't the snide remarks thrown in every once in a while nor was it the arguments.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy had brought them together in the first place years ago, an interest they both shared. They also were like-minded, artistic souls. They completed each other. They knew the happy times were worth everything, the threads they should hold onto.
But now, the insecurities Viggo had held inside his heart for years, had surfaced. He hadn't known for sure if he was able to love Orlando the way he deserved. He hadn't been certain of anything and he had made the mistake to say it out loud.
The next thing he heard was the front door of their home slamming shut and soon the engine was running. The coarse gravel rattled under the tyres as Orlando drove away.

Viggo woke up to a sound of someone walking inside. "Orli?" he tried but didn't receive an answer. He sat up from the couch he had ended up on and rubbed his eyes. He turned his head towards the kitchen and saw Dominic packing a small backpack. "Where's Orli?" Viggo managed again. Dominic turned to look at him a sad expression on his face. "I'm not allowed to tell you. He said you'd be asking for him and told me to tell you that you'd be worrying about him, that he'd be fine but that you'd need to think of things through, individually, before making further plans."
A string of curses filled the air as Viggo realized where he had made the mistake. He loved Orlando more than life itself. Was he now ready to throw it all aside, just because he was afraid, after all these years? What was he afraid of anyway?
The silence that followed was pierced by the front door clicking shut after Dominic let himself back out with Orlando's bag. A second or two later soft sobs ruined the perfect stillness. Viggo realized the things he was afraid of were trivial, meant nothing. Orlando had more than once claimed he loved him. He had already established himself as an actor so well he could be picky about his roles. Hollywood could not crush them no matter how tempted people were. Orlando had been the stronger one of them all along.

It wasn't until Viggo had finished the pick-up shoots for his next movie when he screwed up his courage and called Orlando.
"Hi, Vig. What is it?" Orlando's tone seemed tired and Viggo wondered if it was his doing.
"I...um...We CAN be together."
THE END
