littlegreenleaf
Pairing: V/O
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Sappiness/Fluff/Sweet stuff
Summary: Title itself says a lot.
Disclamer: Yeah, if I said this is real, I'd be lying. I mean no disrespect to anyone and I'm not making money.
A/N: A special thanks to my beta who surprised me by how fast she beta read this. *bows deep in respect and smirks*
Soft fiddling filled the lush, green coppice beside the calm spring. Birds sang happily and a gentle breeze made the forest whisper. There were people gathered between the trees and all of them sat still, amazed by the pair standing in front of the priest, quietly listening to his beautiful words.
Expressive and impossibly big brown eyes held the gaze of stormy blue-grey eyes. The long lashes kept the tears from falling, liquefying the eyes. The virgin white flower tucked behind one ear made a stark contrast to dark brown curls.
Today was the culmination of nine years spent together, of experiences shared, lives united, of the worldwide acceptance. Still, there were things to learn, new emotions to surface. This was the culmination of a strong alliance, between a man and an ethereal elf, between two men who found love outside of characters. This was the unification of two lonely souls.
The stormy eyes looked up to the blue sky, the man breathed deeply, gaining confidence as he saw the carefree clouds sailing by. The swans heading south gave him the final answer. The man looked back into the expectant brown ones and he smiled.
...When I first saw you, I thought of you being like everybody else, a happy young man full of life but you surprised me. During the countless deep conversations about life itself, you showed me there were more to you...
A dreamy smile rose to the handsome face as he recalled the many nights spent together in New Zealand exploring the countryside, sometimes getting lost into the woods, sometimes wading waist deep in a river. He’d justified the immense need to cross the river by saying the moon would look more perfect on the other side. The young man had been crazy enough to follow the lead.
...In the end it dawned on me. I had been feeling odd, positively giddy around you without understanding my feelings. Then, after thinking hard, I knew. The odd feeling had been you invading my heart with every fibre. At the very same moment I decided to start living again, in full force and I haven’t regretted the day.
We’ve come a long way to be here today, fought hard, made sacrifices to adapt our lives with reality. We’ve made this day ours. That’s why I am giving you this ring, sealing this union. With this ring you accept me for who I am, accept us...
The lump in his throat threatened to get overwhelming. Viggo took the white flower behind Orlando’s ear and gently ran the delicate petals over a defined cheekbone, touching the unblemished skin. Orlando closed his eyes and leaned against the feathery touch letting the tears trickle down. Viggo led the flower under Orlando’s chin. The white flower fell to the ground as the need to kiss became overwhelming. The Amen was said. Their relationship had received a blessing.
